How good has the weather been in July?! Finally it feels like we are getting some much needed Summer weather! I was finally able to dust off some Summer dresses! Quite an achievement for me being someone who lives in the same 10% of my wardrobe all of the time! I decided to drag my ass out of its boring comfort zone and wear something different, I’m so glad that I did because I feel that it has actually given me more confidence in choosing my clothes and looking beyond my usual choices. It feels like I’ve gained an entire new wardrobe as most of it has hung up in there unloved since the day I bought it, the majority still with tags! I know I’m not the only person guilty of this!
I also enjoyed some annual leave from work in July, I didn’t travel abroad but I did go to Scotland and we did some cool stuff. We saw the Hogwarts Express and watched it cross the prolific Viaduct all Harry Potter lovers alike will be familiar with, that was probably my favourite thing being that I am a total Harry Potter dork! What’s more the weather with the exception of one day was beautiful. For Scotland that’s a big deal. To me it rains there about 90% of the time. We also found a Christmas shop that is open all year round in Crieff too!! I know, I know, its July, well August now actually. I’m so obsessed with Christmas so I was all kinds of excited to come across this shop, only both days when we went it was closed so I never actually got to go in 🙁
Not to mention the wait for all new Game Of Thrones finally came to an end!! I have been absolutely loving the new series so far! I only wish it was the regular 10 week run time rather than 7!
I’ve been trying out some new skincare this month and I’ve really enjoyed using it and seeing a difference in my skin. I’ve also grabbed some new makeup too, it would be rude not to given that I am a beauty blogger. Without further a do let’s get into my July favourites shall we?
Skin Chemists Advanced Snail Duo Moisturiser *
Yes. You did read that correctly, this is Snail cream and it does contain actual Snail secretion, gross right?! But once you get by the fact your covering your face in cream with Snail slime in it’s actually a good product and there are many proven benefits from Snail secretion. It is a natural ingredient, rich in regenerating properties including hyaluronic acid and antioxidants which include allantion, AHA’s, Collagen and elastin. It is with these active ingredients it is a great anti-ageing skincare product. Since I started using this I noticed quickly how brighter my skin was, the appearance of my fine lines were reduced and my overall tone generally healthier. I have been really surprised by the results and I am so glad I started using this cream. I will without a doubt be repurchasing when I finish this bottle.
This bargain beauty has been popping up all over the beauty world lately. So of course when I learned that W7 had restocked this glorious palette I wasted no time in snapping it up! If you’re looking at it and thinking that it looks familiar, you would be right. This palette is a purse friendly dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette many of us know and love. I am so intrigued to see how this palette compares when I test the formulas and the wearability. I am a firm believer that we don’t always get what we pay for, I have found this to be true with many products. This is my first product from the W7 brand so I have no idea what to expect, but given the popularity of this product I’m sure it will be a palette I enjoy using and playing with. Stay tuned.
Makeup Revolution Pro Illuminate Highlighter
I saw this when I was in Superdrug recently and after swatching the tester I was sold. It’s a very generous 21g pan weight. It’s a gorgeous golden highlight, it gives a subtle glow which you can build up. It’s a creamy formula which blends beautifully. It’s great for the face and dusting all over for a full body sheen. It will be perfect for holiday. I’ll be sure to pack this with me when I jet off. I’ll be glowing like the sun.
Skinny Dip Makeup Bag
What is beautiful makeup without an equally beautiful makeup bag to stash it in?! I am totally and completely obsessed with this Skinny Dip makeup bag. Its fun, sparkly and so beyond cute with the little pink fur pompom that I can’t even say! I think it could double up as an evening bag too. Double whammy! Bonus! Definitely my makeups new BBF!!
Next Home Yellow & Rose Gold 3 Wick Candles
So Next have just had another crazy sale, out with the old and in with the new. Their new home decor items are stunning, I’m a big Next home fan so I love a new drop of beautiful homeward items. I have something of an obsession with candles, reed diffusers and all things gold! The three things I got match that to a T. I am in love with the gorgeous rose and yellow gold three wick candles and matching gold reed diffuser, whats more they all smell really good too. I would have bought then regardless of the scent just purely because of how beautiful they are. I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us!
Tom Ford Soleli Blanc Eau De Parfum
If you could take a tropical Summers day and bottle it, this is what you would get. To me this perfume is a gorgeous mix of floral scents, fresh coconut with a hint of citrus and sea breeze. It smells like a happy scent if that makes sense? Is that just me being weird? It is such a beautiful perfume and I’m sure I won’t have done it justice at all in my attempts at describing it. The packaging is equally as stunning and Summery in its fresh white glass bottle with gold writing. You don’t need to use a lot of this because it is so long wearing, I never find myself reapplying throughout the day. The scent does change a little after you first put it on after it settles into the skin. It’s fair to say I know what I’ll be wearing all Summer long.
Cath Kidston Moisturising Hand Cream
Being a big fan of Cath Kidston and great smelling hand creams it is no surprise I grabbed this when I was last shopping. I love the packing, and it smells even better! The cream is none greasy and easily absorbed. It is formulated with extracts of apple and elderflower, shea butter and vitamin E. The scent is described as a mix of ripe apples, crisp green leaves softened with a hint of apricot and freesia and notes of soft musk and woods. It is a beautiful fresh scent. I honestly can’t get enough of this. Such a great find for my dry hands.
