Big Beauty Haul

I would highly recommend grabbing a snack or a drink at least! This is quite a haul so just to warn you. The beauty junkie in me went totally off the rails and had a huge beauty binge! I’m not even sorry, it was sooooo good!! I couldn’t help myself, I was totally powerless to stop it! Honest! It all starts out so innocently! You know when you get some free time you browse all kinds of websites and add things to the cart and don’t really check out? This is kind of how this all started really. Its more of an accidental haul, perhaps it might be more appropriate to name this the “I didn’t mean to buy it all, haul” it’s definitely fitting!

Makeup and beauty products are my ultimate vice and I cave under the pressure of the products looking back at me from the screen begging me to buy them, I mean who am I to say no? They look so sad in there all alone. Thats an acceptable excuse right? Although, as a woman do I even need an excuse to indulge in makeup and beauty products I most definitely need, want, probably don’t need actually. We’ve all done it though, right? I actually don’t even know where to start, I guess I should group brands together because some I got quite the little stash from. Don’t expect another beauty haul for sometime, I am now on a spending ban, mainly because of the items I’m about to tell you about. Stay tuned to see how that works out for me…

So I think I’ve teased enough! Here are my new babies.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette

I first saw this on Instagram and then on Snapchat from the influencers at the Urban Decay event and I was all over it! These colours are exactly what I am about and I had to have it. It was that simple. So I did, and you know what, it’s even more beautiful now it’s here. I’m so glad I got this and I honestly can’t wait to never have it off my eyes. Urban Decay, take a bow, you have well and truly delivered on this one.

Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops – Moonlight

I have lusted after these since they launched and that wasn’t yesterday. I was back and forth on the shade Moonlight and Celestial, both beautiful shades but I went for Moonlight. I’ve seen this applied to the skin using a beauty blender over the high points and it looks so beautiful. If you aren’t sure what this product is it’s basically a small bottle and it is quite small actually, more so than I had expected, of liquid highlight. The lid has a little dropper in it making for an easier application. I can’t wait to mix this into my foundation for beautiful glowing goddess like skin to see me through the Summer! Definitely one of the items I am most excited about.

Illamasqua Beyond Powder – Deity

I was just having a little scroll through social media when I saw this mystical highlight staring back at me and it was literally a case of straight online to buy it. It was a done deal without a second thought. It is such a stunning unique shade of pearl / champagne highlight with green/blue reflects. The way the light catches it in the pan is beautiful. Now I actually have it I feel totally guilt free about this impulse purchase. How could I feel bad when it is so gorgeous! I think I might dust this all over me and bathe in it looking brighter than the sun.

Nars Narsissist Loaded Palette

I love warm tones and this has the ideal mix of shimmer and matte shades, for me this palette ticked all the boxes. It is complete with the right mix of colours from an all over base shade, transition, definition, highlight, and all over the lid to create so many looks and its the perfect compact size and the pan size hasn’t been compromised. I couldn’t unbox this quick enough when it arrived, and it most certainly did not disappoint. The formulas I trust will be amazing too as Nars generally are. I can definitely see this becoming my staple palette and going everywhere with me.

Stilla Magnificent metals glitter and glow liquid eye shadow – Rose gold retro

This little bottle of rose gold goodness is so beautiful and has pigmentation for days! It’s so intense and long wearing! I’m mainly mad at myself for only getting this colour, I think I will have to change that! It’s more of a liquid / cream shadow that dries after application. The colour payoff is so intense its insane! I only wish I ordered more colours to try!

Jouer Rose gold highlight

Clearly I’m obsessed with highlights and I obviously love rose gold as well so naturally I had to have this. It’s such a stunning shade and it’s unlike any of my other highlights so it’s totally justified and necessary. It has beautiful copper golden reflects that you can see as you tilt the pan. The packaging is to die for also in a chrome light gold/silver effect concealed inside of a holographic box. I’m so glad I got this and believe it or not it’s even more beautiful now that I do actually have it to look at for myself rather than on a screen.

Milani Highlight – Afterglow & Illuminating Face Powder – Beauty’s Touch

Can we just take a second to appreciate how pretty the packaging is, who doesn’t love a bit of gold packaging! Thats without mentioning the stunning patterns in the product, especially the illuminating face powder. It almost looks to beautiful to dare use and spoil it! I’ve tried a few products from Milani and I love them, I’m excited to try out my two latest additions.

Huda Beauty Liquid Lipstick Minis – Nude

Would you believe that this is the first time I’ll be trying these lipsticks! It surprises me too. What better way to try them than by grabbing this cute little minis set?! I went for the nude edition of course because that’s my jam. This set contains the shades Venus, Bombshell, Flirt and Trendsetter in cute little 1.9ml tubes. I might grab another set of different shades, its such a good way to test out more shades and they’re perfect for a small handbag too.

Topshop Highlighter – Crescent Moon

This was sort of an accidental / unintentional purchase. I returned an item to Topshop and had some credit to use and the beauty section caught my eye, it was love at first swatch with this. The texture is so creamy and smooth and the pigment is amazing, I love the pink reflects within the powder. As accidental purchases go, I’d say this is a pretty good one.

Makeup Revolution:

The products I got from Makeup Revolution could pass as a little haul on their own! I was fortunate enough to get my hands on quite a few of their products between going in store and shopping online. I am really impressed with the formula of the highlighters, especially the ones that come in the cute heart packaging. I can’t believe it took me so long to get around to try this brand out. I’ve seen it raved about all over the place too. Better late than never though, right?! The goodies I picked up are:

Highlight palette

I couldn’t decide which of the three shades to get so I got them all and in this handy palette with mirror in the lid making it a great three in one product which will be idea to travel with. The shades within this palette include a peach, a golden and a pink highlight.

Triple Baked Highlighter:

  • Goddess Of Love

So firstly, how cute and pretty is the packaging!! I love it. I was so pleasantly surprised at how creamy and buttery the formula is, I know baked products tend to be but I never expected it to be so rich and soft. It is a finely milled powder and the colour payoff is fab! I’ve not used my own but I had a good experiment of the testers in the shop. I love this colour too, the pink tone reflects in the formula are beautiful.

  • Unicorn Hearts

I couldn’t resist this, it’s so pretty and magical! In all honesty I’m not sure how practical it will be to wear rainbow highlight on my cheekbones but that never stopped me buying it anyway. Practical or not it will add some magic and sparkle to my blog photos. I can’t believe how buttery the formula is in the baked highlighters. Such good value for money too I feel.

Triple Baked Blusher – Iced Hearts

This does claim to be a blush and it is the colour of a blush. I ordered this online and now that it has arrived I personally feel its more on the highlight side rather than a blush.

Revolution Renaissance Lipstick:

These lipsticks packaging wise are quite obviously dupes for the Charlotte Tilbury ones. They look great in the rose gold design, they double up as pretty photo props too! Bonus! I have seen these lipsticks around on social media quite a bit and I am definitely intrigued to try them out. When I bought them there was an offer on so I grabbed four different shades to try, all variants of nude and pink, standard procedure for me. The shades I picked up are Renew, Greatest, Prime and Revive.

Jeffree Star x Manny Eclipse Highlighter

This wasn’t a planned purchase at all, I had liked it when I saw it around on social media and what not. Beautybay stocked it first time round and it had come and gone and I never batted an eyelid. When I received the restock email for this highlighter I acted on impulse and before I knew it I was looking at a confirmation email telling me it will be with me in three to five working days. Please tell me I am not alone on this kind of thing?! It is a stunning shade, I always knew the Jeffree Star highlighters were really big in comparison to most but that never stopped my amazement at how huge it actually is. Such a generous pan size, complete with mirror which could easily double up as a mirror for even doing your full makeup! The net weight of the product is 15g.

ABH Brow Definer – Soft Brown

Already a fan of the cult product Brow Wiz I decided to give the definer a go. I’m intrigued by the angled point to see whether it offers a more precise application in comparison with a regular pencil point brow product. Stay tuned.

Elf Cosmetics

I have used Elf products before and I really enjoyed them, not to mention the great price point! Whats not to love about that! I’ve not really seen the brand around in the UK so much until very recently. Superdrug have only just started to carry their products so I couldn’t resist going in and seeing what I could grab. Obviously I picked up some highlighters, it seems something of a compulsion at the minute with me. I’ve heard good things about their primers so I thought I’d get a couple to try also. I never seem to really experiment with primers unlike most other products for some reason. It was hard to know where to draw the line but in the end I settled on five items from across the brand, the ones that made the cut were:

Poreless Face Primer: I get enlarged pores around my cheeks and we all know what a devil they can be for makeup application so this primer really appealed to me. It has an infusion of tea tree and vitamins A and E to help with moisture and brightening the skin. I’m really looking forward to trying this out and seeing if it really does hide my pores as well as it claims.

Mineral Infused Primer: This primer is intended to smooth over and fine lines and pores to reduce them while giving a long-lasting matte finish to the skin, another great choice for me and my oily combination skin. The name “Mineral Infused” really jumped out at me which is why I grabbed this one.

Illuminating Palette: I was amazed at how this felt under my finger tips when I was playing with the tester. It is such a finely milled powder and is like butter to touch, the colour payoff was incredible for just one swipe. Each pan felt as good as the last. I feel like I could use all of the colours which is a big deal for a pale girl, if like me you are whiter than snow you will know that more often than not when it comes to highlight palettes some shades are no go zones, I don’t get that with this palette. There is a full size mirror in the lid also so it makes for a great travel buddy!

Baked Highlighter – Moonlight Pearls: Like the palette this highlighter formula and texture blew me away and it was love at first sight / touch. I liked a baked product and this one ticks all of the boxes for me. I love the pearl highlight this gives me skin. It blends like a dream too. So impressed with the Elf highlighters, I can’t wait to go back and try out more!

HD Lifting Concealer – Fair I felt a little bit cheated when I took this out the packaging, it was considerably smaller than I had expected. It’s quite deceiving when you see how it comes packaged. It is a 6.5ml tube you get on a doe foot applicator. When I had a little play around in store the formula felt nice and creamy so hopefully it proves itself when I get round to using it.

Primark Highlight Palette & Strobe Creams

Is there anything you can’t buy in Primark anymore? You might be aware by now that they have started to stock some skincare and beauty products all for a bargain price! I couldn’t get down to my local store fast enough when I heard this news. It will come as no surprise that of course the first thing I was drawn to were the highlighters! I swear, with all of these new highlighters I’ve got recently I could give Edward Cullen a run for his money! They have strobe creams in at least three different shades, I got two and opted for the Oyster Pink and Pearl creams. I also purchased the highlight palette which contains four generous pans in the shades Desert, a pearl white, Glimmer, a light to medium golden shade, Eden a pink toned shade and Firefly, a deeper golden bronze shade. The formula felt really soft and creamy and the swatches I  tested were really intense. I was really impressed with them. At £2.00 a strobe cream and £5.00 for the quad highlight palette they’re an absolute steal!
