Best Of Beauty 2017

It feels like only a couple of month ago I was listing my favourite beauty products of 2016, now here I am listing my favourites from 2017. Throughout 2017 I certainly worked my way through my fair share of beauty products and I have found some amazing products to feature in this post. Beauty brands are constantly launching new products and releases so staying ahead of the game can be tough going, especially on the bank balance. I’ve been quite good this year by managing to stop myself being roped in. That was until the Christmas launches came and all self-control was lost! I just couldn’t help myself, I mean after being good all year, what is a girl to do?! If you can’t treat yourself at Christmas, when can you?

As we move into a new year I can’t wait to see what all of the brands have in store for us. Colourpop always have some fab launches, as do Anastasia Beverly Hills. In 2017 we saw the launch of Fenty Beauty, and the arrival of Glossier for us UK beauty junkies. But before we get ahead of ourselves, lets take a little look back over the products that have really wowed me in 2017.

Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer

Of course I had to mention this. I was gifted this in May for my birthday and it has really changed my hair game. It’s so revolutionary in its unique design, it almost feels weightless to hold and it dries my hair so much quicker too. I get that salon finish every time I use this hair dryer and the best thing, it’s so effortless and easy to achieve. I have done a full and in-depth review of the Dyson Supersonic which you can find here. This is probably quite easily my favourite stand out product of 2017.

Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Cologne

2017 was the year that saw me develop quite the Jo Malone obsession, one fragrance in-particular stole the show, English Pear & Freesia. It is such a stunning scent I feel could be worn for any occasion, and for any season. I loved it so much I also got the body crème and bath oil to match. Another thing I love is the bottle, it’s so chic and elegant with its simplicity. As soon as I discovered I was able to purchase Jo Malone with 20% off in Duty Free, that was it. I ordered so much on  a recent trip to Dubai. The way I see it is, the more you spend, the more you save. I’m not wrong.

Yu Ling Jade Face Roller

This product worked incredibly well for me. I had heard great things about it which is why I purchased this, but given that it was just a jade roller that you roll over your face I was on the fence until I was able to see for myself. I was so shocked at the results from something so simple. Jade is well-known for its healing properties and ability to aid the body’s filtration and lymph system to expel toxins while deeply massaging encourages lymph drainage and blood flow to eliminate puffiness. My complexion appeared notably brighter, more toned and my fine lines appeared reduced. I am 100% converted and it has made a believer out of me. I bought the double ended roller so I can use it more easily around my eye area. This was one of my best purchases from the past year without a shadow of a doubt.

Chanel Soleli De Chanel

I really can’t speak highly enough of this bronzer and the one bad thing I would say is that I only wish I had gotten it sooner. Something to note is that this only comes in one shade, I’m quite fair and I feel like it works well for me and is definitely buildable in coverage and colour. I would definitely recommend having it tested before you buy it just incase you aren’t happy with how the shade works for you.

This is a cream bronzer which I find applies best with a synthetic brush, it’s so creamy it blends like a dream. It can be buffed out to the most natural sun-kissed glow, or you can focus it more on the hollows of your face to create an equally beautiful contour. This is my favourite bronzer to create minimal glowy makeup, it’s perfect for those laid back bronzed goddess holiday skin looks.

Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Quad – Golden Sands

Anyone who has tried a Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow quad won’t need me to tell them how amazing they are. The packaging, the quality, the pigmentation, everything is just right. This quad is definitely more on the luxurious side when it comes to beauty products. It was one of my first Charlotte Tilbury purchases and it is definitely encouraging me to try more. The Golden Sands is a beautiful warm toned, neutral palette which is perfect any occasion.

Tom Ford Eye Cream – Sphinx

I honestly think this is the best cream eyeshadow I’ve used, the pigmentation is crazy! Sphinx is the most beautiful shade of gold with orange / copper reflects throughout. It’s so stunning you could wear this alone to make a statement eye look. I find that this applies best using either a finger tip, or a dense synthetic packing brush to pat it on to the lid. The colour remains vivid for the entire duration it is on without dulling any. It was a little extravagant for one product but in terms of quality I feel it’s totally worth it and I’ll definitely be trying other shades.

Tarte Shape Tape

What would a 2017 beauty favourites post be without mentioning this. The cult product that everyone lost their minds about. Well I must say, they were all right in doing so, this concealer is like bottled magic, no jokes. There is nothing you can’t camouflage with a spot of Shape Tape. The formula is so rich and creamy yet so bendable. It feels comfortable on and is so long wearing. I love this so much I would never be without it now.

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow

If you haven’t tried this, you’re really missing out! One of my best beauty finds out 2017 hands down! What I love most about this liquid eyeshadow is how easy it is to use, yet it looks like you’d have spent hours perfecting your eye makeup. It has such incredible wearability, longevity and the pigmentation is outstanding. There is a generous colour selection to choose from in both glitter and shimmer finishes. I used these shadows for all of my party looks of the festive period.

Inglot Gel Liner

I’d heard so many rave reviews about this, but I always struggled to get my hands on it. I found the Inglot store in Dubai mall and wasted no time in grabbing a pot! As it happens about a month after I got home an Inglot store opened up in my local shopping centre! Result! This is the best gel liner I’ve ever used. I’m not always the best at doing wings but this product makes it so easy. It’s a rich creamy formula with the most insane pigmentation and colour payoff ever! It is so intensely black and it glides on effortlessly, I wouldn’t ever use another gel liner after trying this. 10/10 for me. If you haven’t tried this I implore you to.

Glossier Priming Moisturiser

This was the stand out product from my Glossier order, it has impressed me so much I would continually repurchase. I love the concept of having a moisturising which also acts as a primer. Once applied this cream leaves my skin with an even appearance, my pores and fine lines have all been blurred out and my skin looks so smooth and bright. Any areas of redness are gone, and my skin feels hydrated. I absolutely love this product. I sometimes wear this on makeup free days because it makes my skin look so good. Next on my list of things to try from Glossier is the rich version of this.

I have done a more in-depth post of my Glossier products, you can find it here. You can also receive 10% of your order using my link.

What have your stand out products been from 2017? I’d love to know.
