One of my favourite things to do is to shop the sales and grab a bargain or 12! Online sales shopping is the best, or perhaps I should say dangerous because you tend to buy more and spend more! Or at least I do! I absolutely love a bargain, the sales after Christmas are the best for this in my opinion, you can get full-size products half price just because they’re packaged as a gift set! Along with some treats for yourself it makes for the perfect opportunity to snap up some early presents for your loved ones to gift throughout the year and for Christmas. Yes, there I said it, my 2018 Christmas shopping is well underway thanks to the sales.

I tend to head for the department stores and places like Boots and Superdrug for my initial bargains as they have so many brands under one roof. After that I head for my favourite shops to see what offers they have. I like to start out with a list of items of particular interest to try to give me some sort of control when it comes to adding items to my basket rather than a free for all. You all know how easy it is to get click happy with that old add to cart button. Does anyone else go over their basket about 5 times taking things out which you didn’t realise you added?! Cause, same!

The Body Shop were one of the first companies to slide into my inbox announcing their half price sale. I wasted no time at all in getting myself over to their site. Already a huge fan of their products and the brand itself I added a flurry of items to my basket, with nearly all of it from the Christmas range which wasn’t my initial intention but they’re all so good I just had to! From both Frosted Berries and Frosted Plum ranges I picked up the sugar scrub, body butter, shower gel, body lotion and hand creams. From the Vanilla Chai range I got the sugar scrub, body butter, shower gel and hand cream. I think its fair to say I’m well stocked until Christmas 2018 with all of my delicious goodies!

In addition to the festive body treats I also snapped up their Pomegranate Firming Night Cream as I’ve not tried it and I quite like their skincare products, plus it was half price so why not! My final item I bought is their Vitamin C Instant Glow Enhancer to give my dull winter ravaged skin a quick pick me up!

While casually browsing the Superdrug website I couldn’t help but notice further sale reductions and many gift sets were now less than £5!! In my usual flurry of excitement I began adding things to my cart left, right and centre! Completely unintentionally it all ended up being from the Zoella Christmas Snowella Range. After some adding and removing items in my basket I finalised my purchase with the Snowella Winter Soiree Makeup Bag, Sparry Night Set, You’re Cracking Christmas Cracker Set, Brew Me A Bath Set, Winter Wonder hand cream and Snowella Pom Pom Perfume body mist.

Being a skincare junkie I of course nabbed myself some cracking bargains if I do say so myself! My first skincare finds were from one of my favourite brands, Glamglow. I swear by their masks and already have three in my collection but as they are quite pricy so they aren’t something I would head out and buy willy-nilly anymore. Marks & Spencer had halved the price of Glamglow Flashmud Brightening Treatment which I was yet to try, but at half the price I couldn’t resist, especially as it was a full-size jar! So with that my collection has grown to 4. I also made my first purchase from Glamglow that wasn’t a mask thanks to the Feel Unique sale. They had the Glowstarter Moisturisers reduced, I bought the Pearl shade for my fair skin, I’m sure I only paid around £18 for it! Absolute bargain considering full price is £36 or so!

My final skincare purchase was in the shape of the Clarins Multi-Active Skincare Set from Debenhams which was reduced to £28. I was keen to try the Multi-Active range and I think this set will give me a great opportunity to see how it works for me, and at a fraction of the cost of buying the individual, full-price items from Clarins. I’m excited to see how they work out for me, so stay tuned as there might be a post on them in the future.

Ok so it was actually never my intention to buy the Bumble and Bumble Spoiled Silly Gift Set, but when I realised the invisible oil alone cost £35 for the same size in the set, plus a deluxe invisible oil primer, and compact tangle teezer, well I simple had to have it. I had always been keen to try Bumble and Bumble but the pricing put me off a little. I am so glad I snapped up the set which was down to £25.33 from £38 in Boots because it turns out I actually really like it! Something to note, it says use sparingly, please do. The first time I pumped out about 6 pea-size quantities, I was like an oil slick. Two pumps will do the trick, trust me.

Now let’s talk makeup! You really didn’t think I’d have left this part out did you? I’m a very happy bunny with my beauty finds as some are products I’ve been keen to try. I finally got my hands on the cult favourite Too Faced, Better Than Sex Mascara, it is a deluxe size and it was a mere £7!! After seeing many rave reviews I’m so excited to try it! The next product I’d been dying to try was the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Highlight in Diamond Dust. There were many times I had this in my basket ready to check out but I never actually did. When I spotted it in the sale for £12 there was no holding me back! It was mine! What an absolutely stunning shade it is too!

My next item wasn’t something I had planned to get, but I was x amount away from free shipping so I snagged the Nails Inc Sparkle All The Way polish in a cute bauble with multicoloured sequins, it’s a gorgeous colour and I can’t resist a bit of glitter! My final purchase was the Smashbox Mini Lipsticks Set for £20.00 from Boots. I have so many lipsticks but I’ve committed a beauty crime by keeping them way beyond their expiry dates. I need to clear out an eye watering amount of my existing collection. Buying new ones to replace them with will hopefully ease the pain of getting rid of so many. Here’s hoping anyway!

Did you grab any bargains in the sales?
