Glitter & Sparkle Makeup Edit

I absolutely love adding a touch of glitter and sparkle to my makeup and I’m a firm believer that this should be embraced all year round. If you want to glitter and sparkle like a sun and stars, you do that! I know I will. If there’s a contest between who shines brighter, me or a disco ball, you better believe I want to win!

When you think of glam makeup, I’m sure you will agree that certain things spring to mind for each of us. For me it has to be lashes, bold, dramatic lashes that add some sass to any makeup look. For me, a glam look simply wouldn’t be complete without them. My current favourites have got to be the Koko Lashes Queen B’s*, I’m also a huge lover of the stunning Amore lashes* they do also. Both pairs have incredible length, and drama for days! They are the perfect accompaniment to any glamorous makeup look. You could even wear them alone with a minimal makeup look for a little something something. I’m definitely a lash gal so I’d wear these constantly if I could.

Colourpop All I See Is Magic Palette is the perfect partner to create some all out glam looks with, it is full of the most beautiful jewel tone shades. You get just the right mix of matte to shimmer shadows within the palette, the colour payoff and pigmentation is incredible. Another favourite of mine for glitter and sparkle has got to be the Stila Magnificent Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow, they’re so effortless to apply and they stay in place all night. If you’d prefer to go for glitter but a bit more paired back the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liquid Liner packs a punch. Glitter eye liner is so fun and it has all of the impact of a full eye look in my opinion.

Now that we have the eyes all taken care of its time to move onto the complexion. If I’m going glam I need all of the glow! I have to mention my favourite blush for that radiant glow from within look, Hourglass Blush! I have the shade Dim Infusion and it’s a gorgeous pink neutral shade which has been very finely milled and infused with light reflecting particles, it creates a luminous healthy glow.

For a highlight that blinds I reach for my bottle of Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in the shade Moonlight, I always find a liquid highlight packs more of a punch than a powder but not only that, I can mix this straight into my foundation for an all over glow, but also focus on the high points I really want to enhance. This is my go to time and time again for those occasions I want to be brighter than the sun.

Now for the finishing touches! Personally I go for a neutral lip if I go big on the eyes, but to ensure it isn’t too plain and simple I add a hint of sparkle and shine with a layer or two of gloss, my current favourite which I’m constantly reaching for is my Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip in the shade Tight Fit. It’s the perfect nude, laced with metallic shimmer. With the face complete and sparkling away, the final detail for me has got to be the nails, they complete the overall look. Given the theme of the post it of course has to be glitter, Nails Inc have a stunning rose gold which I’ve been using a lot lately, especially over December’s party season.

  2. I still need to try Colourpop, they’re palettes look SO good! I’m working on my blending skills lately so I can justify spending any more money on palettes x

  3. *don’t hate me* but I’m not a massive fan of a shimmer look on me. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good highlight but glitter just doesn’t seem to suit me!
