My Pre-Flight Duty Free Favourites

My holiday couldn’t have been booked for more than a matter of minutes when my thoughts quickly turned to Duty Free! Any trip to the airport wouldn’t be complete without the obligatory pre-flight shopping in Duty Free! As a beauty junkie who is unable to restrain oneself at the best of times, you can image the trouble I have in duty-free! All of my favourite beauty buys at a discounted price! Heaven! Actual heaven.

After weeks of spending just about every opportunity I could on the Duty Free site, mentally buying everything, I managed to make a respectable selection. However with a vast and continually expanding host of brands and products it wasn’t easy! Given that I was bound for the USA I didn’t want to go too crazy. I knew once I hit the malls over there I’d be spending s small fortune on beauty products. With that in mind, and with two brands inparticular on my radar I knew what I would buy.

Six products across two brands later I was done. One of the two brands I bought from has become a must while shopping duty-free, Jo Malone. This is the only place you will ever find Jo Malone with a discounted price tag! (If you know otherwise, wink wink nudge nudge, let me in on the secret) I make sure I take full advantage by never passing an airport without a Jo Malone purchase.

The second brand I shopped was Fresh, a beauty brand which I have fallen in love with of late.

Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne 100ml

From the second I tested this in store I knew I would be adding it to my collection. With an upcoming flight on the horizon it made sense to hold off buying it sooner. Wood Sage & Sea Salt is such a stunning fresh and wearable scent for all occasions.

The scent evokes feelings of being on a beach with a fresh sea salt breeze in the air, and weathered driftwood lapping against the shoreline. For me this is a happy vision and I love to be reminded of this with every spritz. This has to be one of the more universally pleasing fragrances Jo Malone offer. If like me you fall in love with Wood Sage & Sea Salt, you can also buy a body crème, body and hand wash, lotion, and a candle in this delightful scent. You can purchase this in both 30ml and 100ml bottles.

What Jo Malone say about the scent:

Escape the everyday along the windswept shore. Waves breaking white, the air fresh with sea salt and spray. Alive with the mineral scent of the rugged cliffs. Mingling with the woody earthiness of sage. Lively, spirited and totally joyful.

Myrrh & Tonka Intense Cologne 100ml

Unlike some of the other scents Jo Malone have, this one won’t be for everyone. As the name states, this is one of the Intense Colognes and it does pack quite a punch. The Intense Colognes all come in a stunning black bottle. I absolutely adore this fragrance, especially once it settles into the skin. I find it incredibly long wearing too.

It is quite a strong scent so a little goes a long way. With notes of Lavender, myrrh and finally the sweet scent of Tonka bean it smells divine. I love the sweet scent of the Tonka bean that comes through and really compliments the other scents within the fragrance. You can buy this cologne in 50ml and 100ml bottles.

What Jo Malone say about the scent:

Rich, hand-harvested sap of the Namibian myrrh tree, mingling with the warm almond and lush vanilla notes of the tonka bean. Noble and intoxicating.

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner

I knew I’d be getting this as soon as my flight was booked. I’d wanted to try it for so long, so much so I nearly caved and bought it before I got to Duty Free! I resisted the temptation and finally got it and a few other treats.

I’d heard so many amazing things about this and I was super excited to finally see what all the fuss was about! I’m a huge fan of rose in skincare, known for its soothing and healing properties, and in this case hydrating as it is infused with hyaluronic acid! The ultimate ingredient in hydration! This making it a great product to have on my summer holiday after hours of baking in the sun. Infused with real rose petals it works to gently remove traces of dead skin cells, dirt, and pollution from the skin’s surface, leaving it perfectly prepped for the rest of your skincare routine.

So far I adore this and I will 100% be repurchasing!

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Serum

The perfect purchase before a summer holiday to rehydrate the skin and replenish valuable moisture. Another Fresh favourite I had heard only great things about, not to mention it being award-winning. I’m gradually working my way through their range, one product at a time! Unless I’m Duty Free and it’ll be more like 4 at a time! Because no tax! Hallelujah!

This is an intensely hydrating serum which is easily absorbed by the skin to unveil a plumed and healthy complexion, a glow from within if you will. In that one sentence alone I would be sold, I am here for the all of the glow! I love how soothed and hydrated this makes my skin, another hit which I will repurchase.

Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15

With rave reviews a plenty, coupled with my love of lip products and having an SPF15 it made perfect sense to buy and take on holiday with me. That was until I was in the Florida heat for about 10 minutes and it had melted and detached from the stick! So after putting it in the fridge I didn’t dare take it back outside with me!

It does have the most beautiful sheen when on the lips, a subtle, rosey healthy colour. Offering protected, nourished lips with a gorgeous rosey sheen, whats not to love?! I can totally see why this is one of their best-selling products. If like me you’re partial to a lip product or ten, you need this. Trust me.

Fresh Sugar Lip Hydrating Balm – Coconut

Being a lip balm junkie, and a lover of all things coconut this one needed no thought, I had to have it. Oh my days, it smells like heaven! I want to bathe in this scent! My lips feel so hydrated and smooth when I wear this velvet like lip balm. It is long wearing and moisturising I find myself rarely needing to reapply. Another must for fellow lip balm junkies! Can Fresh do any wrong? It would appear not.
