Gucci Marmont Belt Review

Arguably the “IT” belt of the last few of years. You’d have to have been living under a rock to have not heard about the Gucci Marmont Belt. I feel that this very much a love or hate item. Often considered the ultimate basic bitch purchase but hey, you know what? I love it and I’ll own my basic bitch belt with pride. It doesn’t bother me that this belt is plastered all over the internet. I like it and imma enjoy sinching my waist in with her. I’m sharing my thoughts on this beauty in my Gucci Marmont belt review to give you all of my thoughts on it.

It had been on my wish list for the longest time so I thought it was time I finally bought it. I’m so pleased that I did because honestly, I cannot get enough of it. I opted for the 3cm width belt in black leather with gold hardware. It is available in 2cm, 3cm and 4cm with the gold GG buckle. I always thought I’d go for the 4cm one which is typically the one you see most of. When I was in the store trying them the 3cm ended up being perfect. I personally found the 4cm belt to be a bit too chunky on me for my liking.

Let’s take a closer look at my new love

I went for the black belt as I feel black is such a great universal colour. This belt could be paired up with so many different outfit options. The belt itself is lightly textured leather which feels really hard-wearing and of great quality. The GG is brass hardware with a slightly antique tarnished appearance to it.

Gucci sizes are in cm to make it easy to pick the right one for you. When I was trying mine I tried to get that middle ground size that can be both a waist and hip belt. I did the best I could but I have quite a small waist so it was a little tricky.

There are a few colour options to choose from but I think that the 3cm belt only comes in black. Don’t hold to me that though. The 2cm and 4cm both also come in tan, white and a dusty pink which I think I’ll be buying at some point. You can select a variety of leather options when selecting your specific belt alongside varying hardware options also. There seems to be more options in both the 2cm and 4cm I found when I was looking.

Functionality and Wearability

The belt itself is simple with a statement buckle, the colours available are all pretty universal. I honestly can’t think of an outfit choice that this belt couldn’t work with. It’s such a versatile belt that is both durable and hardwearing. I personally prefer the black with gold hardware as that fits best with my personal style. There are a few other variations in colour, width and types of leather available so there is sure to be something for everyone. This belt can be worn around your hips as well as a waist belt. Statement belts seem to be having a real moment and given the popularity, the trend doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.

Is it worth it?

Of course, I think that it is worth it, but that’s a very personal thing. I was happy to spend £285 on this belt and I love how functional it is. I’m a big fan of Gucci and I like a lot of their products and I always feel that they are of great quality. This belt is no exception. If you love belts and have this on your wishlist and it meets your budget comfortably I cannot recommend it enough. I adore mine and I am so happy that I decided to buy it. I already know that I’ll be buying the dusty pink belt at some point too. I’ve already gotten so much wear out of mine so the cost per wear, in the long run, will be great.
