Wonderland Makeup Review

As a self-confessed beauty junkie there is nothing I love more than to discover new brands and try new products. As a beauty blogger I am immensely fortunate to be sent products to try from some lovely brands. If Iโ€™m honest this is something I never get over, itโ€™s still surreal to me to receive gifted items for me to try out. Itโ€™s such a privilege. Recently I was contacted by a brand which was fairly new to me, I had heard of them through social media and other bloggers, but Iโ€™d never tried them myself.

The brand in question is Wonderland Makeup. Their aim is to deliver high-quality, cruelty free beauty products at a reasonable price point. With over 12 years experience the brand is really coming into their own in the world of cosmetics. The cruelty free aspect is for me a great selling point, itโ€™s incredible to see more and more companies adopting this ethos.

Lash Thickening Mascara*

When it comes to mascara I find myself very critical and difficult to please. I have to admit I did try this with an open mind and I wasnโ€™t expecting to be blown away. Perhaps it was this lack of expectation which allowed this product to really deliver for me. I was pleasantly surprised with the end results. My lashes appeared lengthened, evenly coated and they didnโ€™t clump and stick together at all.

The lashes on my right eye behave considerably better than those on my left, I have no idea why but it has always been the case. The right side is like Gucci, and the left a cheap knock-off if you will. A bit like brows, one always turns out better than the other. Sisters not twins though hey!

Iโ€™m digressing! Back to the mascara! The formula is quite thick I find, and the applicator is tapered to get those shorter lashes on the inner corners of our eyes. For me personally I find the wand a bit too long, I would have prefer a shorter one with more control. That being said it did coat my lashes evenly distributing the mascara really well as it went. It spaced them out and gave them a fuller and more wispy appearance which I really loved. This was my favourite of the three products Iโ€™ve tried from Wonderland Makeup.

Studio Finish Primer*

This is an oil free primer, it is very lightweight and has a silky, slippery texture when you apply it to the skin, as it settles into the skin the silky texture goes away. I find that it gives my skin a smooth appearance and helps to cover over my pores. My foundation applies well over the top of this and I do find it long wearing. I do however have quite an oily T-Zone so it does break up around that area and doesnโ€™t tend to wear well. I do find this to be the case with nearly all primers I use so I didnโ€™t expect this one to be any different, especially as it isnโ€™t targeted toward an oily skin type.

A little goes a long way so I would recommend a light hand. Overall I do like this primer, it offers a great base to apply makeup on top and I do feel that it helps it to be long wearing for the most part.

Eye Pigment โ€“ Paradiso*

I was really pleased the colour I received, it is exactly the kind of colour I would pick for myself. The pigment applies quite shear at first I noticed, I found I had to pick up a lot of products to get a good colour payoff using a dry, dense packing brush, however with a wet brush it picks up far more and the payoff is naturally a lot greater. The shade Paradiso works well as a brow bone and inner corner highlight, as well as all over the lid, it also looks great over the top of another lid colour to give a subtle shimmer.

I tested this with both primed and unprimed lids, naturally as you would expect the primed application lasted longer than without but I do feel that I have oiler lids so I wouldnโ€™t expect any less. The specific colour I have could lend itself to being a face highlight too Iโ€™d say. I find the formula to be very fine and easy to work with and apply. You do get some fall out which is to be expected from a loose pigment. On the whole I do really like this pigment, Wonderland have a really great colour range to choose from too.
