I tend to find we fall into one of two camps at this time of year. Your either warmly welcome autumn and embrace it wholeheartedly, or you hate it and mourn the passing of summertime. I fall into the former and utterly adore autumn but that said, I totally see why some people have a hard time with autumn and winter. It gets colder, rainier and the days get shorter which are all things I’m not crazy about even as an autumn lover. One thing I think we can all agree on is that our well-being needs more care and attention at this time of year. The change in seasons can have all sorts of effects on both our physical and mental well-being and leave us longing for a much needed pick me up. I’ve curated this handy guide of Autumn Essentials to help boost well-being.
Nutritional Supplements
There are so many products to use and enjoy to make us feel better outwardly but what about working on the inside first? I’m a firm believer that self-care starts from the inside out. It is for this reason I always take an array of supplements on a daily basis to ensure I’m getting exactly what I need. Our health is our wealth and I’m more than happy to spend the money on a great supplement. I sort of see it as investing in myself.
Recently I was introduced to Hum Nutrition and I’ve been enjoying adding some of their supplements to my regime. I’ve been trying Daily Cleanser, Uber Energy, Air Patrol and Here Comes The Sun. Hum Nutrition have an extensive selection of supplements available for a whole variety of requirements. They allow you to tailor your supplements entirely to your own needs and I’m a huge fan of the packaging.
Eye Mask / Pillow Case – Silk
Sleep is a great remedy to make us feel better and our bodies do wonderful things while we sleep. To help maximise the benefits of great sleep consider introducing silk into your routine. Silk pillowcases and eye masks have so many great benefits helping us achieve the perfect beauty sleep. Some of the more notable benefits are its anti-wrinkle and anti-frizz properties. This Is Silk – Silk Pillowcase provides a luxurious sleep that will actually have you wake up looking well-rested. After all of the treats detailed above, round it off with the perfect way to end the day, on a bed of silk.
Pillow Mist
There’s nothing better than sinking into a pillow that has been misted with a soothing scent to help you drift into a blissful slumber. My current favourite is from a recent brand discovery of mine, Echor. Their End Of Day Pillow Spray is a blend of 100% essential oils infused with lavender and it smells incredible. I look forward to getting into bed so much more since I began using this. It is such a beautifully calming and soothing scent that melts the days stress away.
Candle
Similarly to a pillow mist, I also adore burning a soothing candle to fill the room with relaxing aromas ahead of bedtime. Echor also has an End Of Day Candle which has the same comforting scent as the pillow spray. There is something so relaxing about watching a candle flame flicker and dance in a dark room. It really is the most perfect way to bring calm to an evening routine.
Bath & Skincare Treats
A hot bath with our favourite treats can work wonders for us on a cold autumnal day. I don’t know about you but a good old pamper in the bath really lifts my mood. You can’t go wrong with goodies from Lush. Another favourite brand of mine is Evolve, I adore their products and for extra TLC I reach for the delicious Tropical Blossom Body Polish and Body Butter. When I’m in full pampering mode I like to use my luxury skincare. Temple Spa Repose Night Cream is gloriously nourishing and soothing on my skin, perfect for the harsher weather.
Yoga / Meditation
For the mind, I feel there is nothing better than taking time to just be still. Yoga and meditation are my favourite ways to achieve that level of inner peace and they improve any mood. Yoga With Adriene is my go-to for at-home practices and has been for a while now. I can’t recommend her enough and her content is great for all abilities. At this time of year, I find that life tends to get a bit more hectic what with Christmas on the horizon. Setting aside a small amount of time to incorporate yoga and meditation can work wonders, I promise you won’t look back.
Hand & Foot Care
Cold weather and central heating are no friends of our skin. I find our hands and feet need extra care during the cooler seasons. I get eczema so my hands can suffer terribly and be really sore and raw at this time of year. Thick creams rich in shea butter are my products of choice and at bedtime, I sometimes put cotton gloves on to lock in the moisture overnight. Extra nail and cuticle care are good habits to practice too so I often use my favourite Jessica Phenomen Oil Cuticle oil for an extra touch.
For my feet, I’ve recently been loving Footopia from Beauty Pie. I sometimes use a foot file and a scrub in the bath to smooth away any drier patches before coating my feet in a generous later of Footopia cream. Like my hands, I also put on cotton socks to lock in the moisture to better results overnight.

I’m definitely more of a Spring/Summer person, for sure, but I do love Christmas and the colours that nature gives us in Autumn. I just hate rain, being cold, and the fact that it gets dark so early! That said, I’m always up for a good pamper x
