It is officially the month of Christmas and whether you like it or not, it means it’s Christmas full steam ahead! That’s right, it’s time to jingle your bells folks! For me, I’m pretty much in that place all year round, but come September I struggle to contain my excitement, so no surprises that I’m kicking off December with “The Christmas Tag” What else?! After all, it is the most wonderful time of the year! Without further ado here we go:
1. What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
Erm, EVERYTHING!!! I love the beautiful decorations, the bright pretty lights everywhere, turning the house into a festive grotto, all of the delicious foods and drinks, especially Costa’s Christmas menu, the festive markets, Fenwick’s Window, getting cosy and enjoying a Christmas film or ten! Buying gifts for my loved ones and struggling to keep them a secret because I am so excited to give them, getting to spend extra time with family, everyone being in good spirits, Christmas music playing everywhere, gift wrapping, Christmas jumpers and that warm fuzzy festive excited feeling you only get at this time of year.
2. What is your favourite makeup look for the festive season?
I’m definitely more likely to reach for golds, coppers, glitter and all things sparkly. I also go a bit mad with the highlighter, if there is such a thing. It is glow season after all! You can’t beat a festive red lip over the holiday season either.
3. Real tree or artificial tree?
100% artificial, don’t get me wrong, real trees do look beautiful but they just aren’t for me. As a child my Nana always had real trees, and every Christmas without fail I would end up with feet that resembled a hedgehog with the number of spines that would impale themselves into my little poor tootsies! I’ve never got over it!
4. Do you open your presents on Christmas morning or evening?
Morning, but not until everyone is up and we do it together.
5. What is your favourite Christmas film?
This is a toughie, I’m not sure I can narrow it down to a single one. From a very young age, I have always loved the 1964 Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer with Burl Ives so I suppose I would go for that as my all-time favourite. I also absolutely LOVE It’s A Wonderful Life, a festive feel-good classic.
6. What is your favourite festive food?
Pigs in blankets!! Every time! I love those little suckers! Literally my mouth is watering at the thought of them! I also love mince pies and Christmas cake! Plenty marzipan on it of course! I get a little bit obsessed with Costa over Christmas too.
7. What tops your tree?
I am a star person, a sparkly, glittery silver star adorns our tree.
8. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
A couple, I always wear new pyjamas and watch the 1964 Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer movie. I also burn the Christmas Eve Yankee Candle for the whole day.
9. Giving or receiving presents?
Definitely giving them. I love buying gifts and seeing the faces of the people opening them. It’s one of my favourite things about the day.
10. What is your favourite Christmas song?
It has to be The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl Fairytale Of New York. I also love me some Holly Jolly Christmas too.
What are your favourite things about Christmas? Answer in the comments below 🙂
