So Shape 14 Day Challenge

One of the goals I set myself for 2018 was to adopt a healthier lifestyle, incorporate regular exercise and trying to ensure I eat my veggies basically. Recently I learned of the brand So Shape, they offer challenges of varying length aimed toward weight loss. You can choose from a 7, 14 or 28 day challenge, I opted for the 14 day challenge as I felt a week might be too short, and 28 days too long to maintain.

As part of the 14 day challenge I received a selection of meals designed to be low in calories and targeted toward weight loss. For breakfast I would have a shake, I would prepare my own healthy lunch, and for tea I have a meal from So Shape.

They have quite an extensive range of flavours available to hopefully cater for even the fussiest eater. For the breakfast shakes you have the option of smoothies and frappes, and for tea, soups, risotto and pasta. For my breakfast shakes I felt spoiled for choice to be honest, I eventually settled on raspberry frappe, salted caramel and chocolate flavours. For my main meals and being a pasta girl at heart I picked two variants of pasta meals, spicy bolo and a cheese pasta, for varieties sake I opted for a tomato soup too.

Each shake and meal come sealed in foil pyramid style packaging which are ideal for on the go. To make them you just add water and shake or mix. The cooking instructions are really easy to follow. Alongside the meals I also received a shaker which I used to measure the correct amount of water required per shake or meal. The shaker also has an insert where you can put in your own choice of ingredients to infuse your water.

The shakes were my favourite, the chocolate one especially, I wasn’t too keen on the salted caramel one personally. Of the main meals I enjoyed the spicy bolo and tomato soup most, I didn’t particularly enjoy the cheesy pasta as much as I’d hoped. My first though upon reading my meal plan was that I was going to be hungry all of the time. Surprisingly this wasn’t the case. I did manage to eat all of the meals I set out.

Alongside following this 14 day challenge I also introduced some exercise into my routine too. I found my results to be fairly good after monitoring them at the end of the first week, which saw me with a 3lb loss, and at the end of the second and the overall challenge which again I had another 3lb loss, giving me a grand total of 6lb weight loss overall, I’m definitely happy with that. Although my challenge is now finished I will maintain a healthy diet and regular exercise going forward.

Overall I think the 14 day challenge from So Shape was idea for me, it’s really kicked started my motivation to keep up my healthier eating combined with working out. I enjoyed most of my meals, I wish I’d chose a risotto over the cheese pasta but otherwise I found my challenge to be a success.

Have you tried any weight loss programs? How did you get on?

I don’t know how I’d cope with this – I’m a ‘fussy’ eater and don’t really like shakes too much haha xx

  5. Oh wow this sounds amazing! You’ve actually lost quite a bit of weight which is amazing. I had been looking at the BoomBod recently and been debating whether to do it or not. I have always wondered if doing these weight loss programs, would make me more hungry and I’ll just end up snacking? x

  6. Oooh I haven’t tried these before but they sounds really good! Shame the pasta wasn’t as nice but a chocolate shake for breakky and risotto for tea sounds like a pretty good kickstart to me!! Xx

  7. This sounds perfect! I’ve been upping my step intake at the moment as I find I don’t do enough in a day, and it’s made such a difference in my weight loss. It seems like a decent plan unlike those ‘shakes all day’ plans. What a great loss!
