ARK Skincare Review

(Features press samples & affiliate links)

Ark Skincare has been on my radar for some time now and I’ve always intended on trying their products. I love the brand’s approach to skincare having created age-specific ranges so that all skin types and needs are met. The range consists of three key age-specific product lines, Protect for teens & 20s, Defend for 30s & 40s, & Defy for those over 50. Ark Skincare treats skin primarily by age but also by skin concern too and what’s more, they’re both cruelty-free and vegan.

I’m sure if you’re a regular reader around here you’ll know I’m an oily combination gal. On top of being oily combination, I also have dehydrated skin which can be a nightmare to navigate. All of the products are best suited to my skin type and age range. I’ve been putting four products to the test for a while now to see how they work out for me. Continue reading to see how I got on and what my thoughts are on the products used.

Age Defend Conditioning Cleanser*

This is a real stand out product for me. The light gel cleanser works so perfectly with my skin type leaving it thoroughly cleansed without it feeling dry or stripped. The formula is both nourishing and calming on my skin due to its natural ingredients. It aids the skins natural exfoliation process to encourage a clear and radiant complexion while effectively removing makeup and excess sebum.

Harnessing Moringa Oil it is rich in Vitamin A and C it cleanses gently ensuring the skin retains essential moisture. Packed with Kiwi and Passion Fruit lipids which are rich with Omega 3 fatty acids to boost skin’s moisture levels. Finally, Blue Lotus, the ‘sacred flower of anti-ageing’ is a powerful antioxidant that helps with firmness and elasticity.

If you are in your 30s and 40s I cannot recommend this enough. I use it twice a day and massage it into damp skin before rinsing with warm water. I would more than happily repurchase this once I reach the bottom of this bottle.

Age Defend Replenishing Moisturiser*

Created with Co-enzyme Q10, this moisturiser is rich in natural moisturising agents Shea Butter and Olive Oil. Containing clinically proven wrinkle plumping peptides, including Matrixyl, it smoothes skin, plumps and tones, while diminishing signs of premature ageing.

Also harnessing hero ingredient Retinol, it works to plump and strengthens the skin while increasing collagen production whilst remaining gentle enough for sensitive skin. Like the cleanser, it also includes Kiwi and Passion Fruit lipids alongside Blue Lotus.

This is a beautifully nourishing formula that leaves my skin feeling hydrated and plumped with early signs of ageing appearing reduced with prolonged use. It is designed for use both morning and night however I sometimes opt for PM only due to my oiler skin. A great feature is the pump dispenser packaging this moisturiser is housed in making it clean and hygienic with every use.

Ark Skincare Range

Skin Perfectors Hydration Injection Masque*

This product has really blown me away with how super hydrated my skin is after using this, my skin just devours it. Yet another hero product from Ark Skincare.

Providing the skin with a multivitamin hydration injection to quench skin, plump wrinkles and fine lines to reveal a radiant complexion. This masque is the perfect pick me up for parched lacklustre skin.

Formulated with a cocktail of vitamins for maximum impact: Vitamin A to regulate collagen synthesis; Vitamin B5 for smoothness; Vitamin C to fade pigmentation and Vitamin E to act as an anti-inflammatory and to prevent UV damage. A Hyaluronic Acid Booster penetrates deeply into the skin’s layers providing 24-hour protection against water loss. Finally, Sugar Beet and Abyssinian Oil leave the skin feeling well-nourished and silky smooth to the touch.

It is recommended that this masque be used once or twice per week. I apply evenly to cleansed skin and I leave it on for around 20 to 30 minutes. It can be used as an overnight mask which I have yet to try but I certainly intend to.

Considering I only use this for a mere half-hour at a time it leaves my skin intensely hydrated, plumped, restored with a healthy, youthful glow. It also soothes any irritation, redness and inflammation too. What more could you possibly ask of a product?

I think all skin types could benefit from having this in their routine. Who doesn’t want all of the above for their skin?! I sure do. Another product I will continually repurchase.

Skin Perfectors Clearing Serum*

Last but by no means least I have the clearing serum to help battle excess oil and subsequent breakouts. I don’t often suffer from breakouts fortunately but this helps my skin hugely with the oil build-up and enlarged pores.

This pore-refining clearing serum banishes bacteria, tightens pores and eliminates excess shine. The plant-based formula treats breakouts, redness and irritation, yet is gentle and calming on the skin. Using a formulation of Margosa Leaf Extract, renowned for its antibacterial properties to tighten pores and prevent blemishes and Watercress, Nettle & Horsetail regulate sebum production and prevent acne.

I apply in one of two ways, if I have any blemishes I apply it onto them directly as a spot treatment. The second is to add a few drops to my moisturiser and apply all over my face.

My only niggle with this is the dropper can be a little glitchy and difficult to fill with the serum. Other than that I love this also. It really helps to minimise my pores and manage my oil build-up throughout the day. I will continue to repurchase and keep this as part of my skincare routine moving forward.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed putting Ark Skincare to the test and I’ve found some incredible products that will remain in my skincare routine. I cannot recommend the brand enough and I plan to try more products from the brand after this experience.
