What I’ve Been Loving Recently

(Features press samples & affiliate links)

Wow. So that was very much an unplanned 6-month hiatus. What with the hustle and bustle of the festive season, followed by a bit of a mental health meltdown earlier in the year to having major surgery in April. I’m currently still in recovery from my op which has been a complete success may I add. Life is pretty lowkey these days while I make a full recovery so what better time to spend working on some new content. What better way to get back into the swing of things than to share my current favourites. This is more a recent favourites than monthly so let’s roll with it.

I’ve realised it’s a bit hair heavy and it’s by complete accident that I have so many hair-related items to mention.

Beauty Pie Pati Dubroff Makeup Essentials Kit

This set combines my two loves. Beauty Pie and no-makeup makeup, oh and that gorgeous pink case! This ticks all of the boxes when it comes to my current makeup preferences. With the lockdowns and lack of doing anything, I’ve found myself gravitating more towards light makeup. It’s also the perfect kit for the summer months to achieve your skin but better vibes I’m so here for atm.

The products in the kit include:

That’s a whole lot of bang for your buck when you consider this cost a mere £44.00. It did of course take £150.00 of my spending allowance (for clarity on what this means check out my post covering how Beauty Pie works). Annoyingly this has sold out but the products are all available to buy individually with the exception of the pink case. Shop Beauty Pie here.

Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint

I feel like this product is everything I have been looking for in a skin tint. Already a huge fan of Fenty I was excited to try this for myself. When it comes to foundation or skin tints I like a sheer finish, your skin but better kind of vibes. This gives me just that plus it blurs out my pores and evens my skin tone beautifully. I have oily combination skin and this works really great for me. I find it lasts really well although I do set it as I do with any complexion product.

This comes in 25 shade ranges that match your skin.

L’Oreal Wonder Water 8 Second Hair Treatment

I must admit to being more than a little bit sceptical about this. After all, how good can something that only claims to need 8 seconds really be? Well, as you can probably gather from this being featured in my recent favourites post, very. It actually took me by complete surprise especially as my hair is a struggle to manage.

As per the usage guidelines I use around 20ml per wash and coat the lengths of my hair and massage the product in. It rinses out with ease to leave my hair with a soft and silky coating.

Once dried my hair has a noticeable sheen with an added softness. It gives it such a gorgeous and healthy appearance and it feels like silk. I really don’t know how L’Oréal does it but this product is top tier and I’ll forever repurchase this. It’s the only product I’ve ever tried like it and it has completely won me over and proved my initial scepticism wrong. Very wrong.

Kerastase Nutritive Nourishing Overnight Serum

So, sticking with the theme of hair care I have another great find to share with you. Can you tell I’ve been trying to level up my hair routine recently? Let me introduce you to the dreamy Kerastase Nutritive Leave-In Serum. I was a little dubious about this initially due to it being applied to clean, dry hair. The idea seems alien I’m not going to lie, but I trusted the process and went with it.

It was a very lightweight, non-greasy formula that applies and absorbs to leave a soft and silky sheen to the hair. I find myself having to be mindful not to use too much at this point. I love the idea of a product that works to nourish and replenish the hair between washing. This is designed by used as an overnight serum but sometimes I’ll use it throughout the day too.

Dyson Airwrap Styler

Remaining firmly on the hair care theme with my final and arguably favourite item. I’d been flirting with the idea of getting the Dyson Airwrap for longer than I can recall. I had watched just about as much content reviewing the Airwrap as I could take in. At around the same time as deciding to take the plunge I realised I had enough points on my Boots Advantage card to purchase this with my loyalty points. How could I not?!

As my hair is relatively long I opted for the longer barrelled Airwrap and I’ve never looked back. Haircare is not my forte and my expertise in this area leaves a lot to be desired. The Airwrap has totally changed my hair game and the best thing, it’s so low effort and easy. Even for someone like me who has no skill when it comes to my hair. I’m absolutely delighted with this and despite not having bought it with money I would consider it worth it to me regardless.

I plan to share a more in-depth post on my Airwrap as I have my Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer so stay tuned for that.

FOREO Bear Mini *

So we all know the benefits of working out, right? Well, the FOREO Bear mini is essentially a workout for your face. This facial toning device uses microcurrent and T-Sonic pulsations to exercise the 65+ muscles in our face. It’s a strange sensation initially I must admit but I quickly acclimatised. With regular use, I could see a noticeable change in my complexion. My skin looked firmer and more toned with my fine line appearing reduced. I used the device with the recommended serum FOREO also sells and I’ve been delighted with my results. FOREO is probably my favourite brand for skincare devices having tried and tested 4 from across their range.

FraÎcheur Paris Facial Ice Globes

Facial puffiness. Oh, I’m sorry, we don’t know her.

These babies had been on my radar for a little while before I pulled the trigger. Cult Beauty graced my inbox with 20% off and the temptation was too much. I caved and OH MY DAYS I am so glad that I did. I love my new morning routine incorporating my facial ice globes. In fact, I reach for these throughout the day rather than exclusively in the morning time. My first-morning use is my favourite to wake me up and to depuff my face. They’re definitely a luxury item in my opinion rather than a necessity but I’d absolutely recommend them to anyone considering purchasing them.

Louis Vuitton Felicie Pochette

As it’s been so long since I updated my blog there have been some changes to my luxe collection. This time in the form of a Louis Vuitton Felicie Pochette. This is a piece that I’ve had my eye on for a while and I’m delighted to have her in my collection. I love the classic Monogram canvas but more often than not it comes with vachette leather which I tend to avoid. The Felicie Pochette is the perfect answer for me as it is Monogram and vachette free. Another huge pro is the two inserts the Felicie comes with, a cardholder insert and a zipped pouch insert. Both are removable to give more freedom of use. The interior is a gorgeous berry pink shade that matches the inserts. It comes complete with a removable gold chain which for me is the cherry on top. A simple and stunning bag that can be dressed up or down. The perfect addition to my current collection.
