There’s nothing more exciting than an upcoming holiday or trip away, especially when it involves going to an airport. Or at least not for me anyway. Once the bags are checked in and you’re through security that’s when the holiday really starts. One thing that fills me with as much as excitement as the actual holiday is World Duty Free shopping!!!! A whole world of beauty and skincare not to mention the whole host of other items you can get, all at a lower price! Sign me up!
As soon as I have flights booked my thoughts immediately turn to the duty free shopping and I, without fail, end up with a shopping list the length of my arm. I’m going on holiday in August myself and I’ve already taken to planning what I’m going to get! I love to take full advantage of the online ordering and collection in the airport facility, they offer an even wider selection of stock than some airports carry. Such a time saver too! A new brand recently launched within World Duty Free, and is also on my wishlist this August is Fresh Beauty and I for one can’t wait to pick up some products in August, I’ve got my list ready and waiting!
I might have to wait a little while yet before I can do some shopping myself, but the lovely team at World Duty Free have kindly sent me three beauty products from their extensive range to try in the mean time. They sent the perfect holiday trio let me tell you!
Gucci Bloom Body Lotion 200ml*
This makes for the perfect duty free purchase for any sort of trip. Whether it be a beach holiday that you can come in from a day of soaking up the sun to lather this into your skin to hydrate and leaving it smelling divine! Or perhaps a city break or getting ready for the evening, this will leave you smelling fresh and floral all day and night.
The lotion melts into the skin on application and it absorbs quickly leaving the skin hydrated, soft and smelling like a basket of fresh flowers. I would happily wear this alone as it has such a lovely scent it seems a shame to layer it with anything else, unless it is infact the matching Gucci Bloom perfume.
This is one beauty product I’ll definitely be packing to take on my summer holidays to keep me floral fresh daytime through to evening.
Urban Decay Afterglow Highlight Palette*
Glow me up!! I don’t know about you but on any sort of trip I always need the glow, more so a beach holiday! There’s just something about the way the sun catches the highlight to really bring your complexion to life and make you look like a glowing goddess! Now I know we all want a slice of that! What better product to buy than a highlighter, or a highlight palette to be precise! Why settle for just one shade when you can have four. There would be no sense in it. Urban Decay have created the stunning After Glow palette which has four square pans full of highlighting goodness.
They look a lot darker in the pans than they actually are when you swatch or apply which I was so happy about, I thought they might be a bit dark for my fair skin otherwise. The shades included are:
- Bliss – Champagne Gold Pearl
- Peroxide – Iridescent Pink
- NSFW – Peachy Pink
- Side Piece – Golden Peach
The formula is so rich and creamy, almost like butter to touch and the colour payoff is incredible. Each pan is as good as the last. The perfect holiday companion.
OPI Nail Lacquer – We Seafood & Eat It*
Painted nails are the perfect finishing touch to any outfit, as they say, the devil is in the detail! You can’t skip on the nails when going on holidays in my opinion. It just sets off the whole look. At home I tend to opt for a more neutral shade causes that’s just my jam, but for holidays I like to be more fun and bold. OPI have got to be one of my favourite nail polish brands so picking up an extra couple in the airport is a great way to try more for less £££.
The shade We Seafood & Eat is a bold and bright lobster red, it’s such a fun and vibrant shade making it perfect for a holiday and a tan. It’s just the right shade to accentuate a tan and I for one love it!! I already know I’ll be wearing this on my nail on my summer holiday.

Wow I usually just get Toblarones from duty free but I haven’t got beauty stuff before. I shall have to invest in it x
That Urban Decay palette looks stunning! I love having a look round Duty Free too I always end up lusting after all the beauty items they have, last time I went on holiday I picked up a MAC lipstick from there but they have so many good brands now I don’t think I’d be able to control myself! Lucky for my bank balance I’m not flying anywhere this year haha!

I always make a list with all my friend when they go on holiday and take advatage of duty free as much as possible. It’s my favourite thing about going on holiday, before actually getting there.
