Transitional Autumn Pieces From Cari’s Closet

I am so excited to welcome autumn, but at the same time I’m like WTF, how on earth is it autumn again?! I literally feel that last autumn hasn’t been long gone! The rate at which time passes by these days is frightening! Please tell me that I’m not alone in this! Three months is all we have left of 2018, let that sink in for a second! Three months! Ok, now that my mini melt down is out-of-the-way, lets resume this post.

Without sounding like the ultimate blogger cliché, autumn is definitely my favourite season and I love most things about it. Shorter, darker days, and a deterioration of the weather aside I’m definitely an autumn girl at heart. Now that the warm and sunny days of summer are a distant memory we become more accustomed to chilly mornings that become mild afternoons! I always struggle with what to wear! I dress to keep warm in the mornings, and by the afternoon I’m sweating like something not right! After many days of getting it wrong, I finally feel that I might have found my happy medium for in-between season dressing! Enter Cari’s Closet.

As it is very early autumn I like to try to transition my wardrobe gradually before I dive head first into an array of reds, oranges and burgundy colours! I have found a couple of key, staple pieces to do just that. I have opted for blush tones to help ease me into my darker colours for the autumn and winter. Both pieces can be used to layer which I have found to be the best way to dress to avoid afternoon overheating!

Faux Fur Gilet*

The perfect layering companion, the gilet! I think they are so lovely to wear and this one of so cosy! It’s a gorgeous blush pink, faux fur gilet. I love the way the fur is layered to create the gorgeous graduated style it has. It lends itself effortlessly to so many different outfits, dressed up or dressed down it is so versatile. I personally love to wear it with a waist belt, but it does looks just as beautiful without. It’s so cosy and warm, but without being too thick so you don’t ever get too warm. I am a huge fan of this colour, it’s so flattering and universal I feel.

It is mid-length, although on me it is a little longer due my lack of height, I actually prefer it that way on me if I’m honest. I can definitely see me wearing this for a while yet. They come in a range of colours to choose from if pink isn’t for you. On the inside it has hook eye fastening which are hidden so not to be visible from the outside which I love about this.

Cropped Shearling Jacket*

I’d been wanting one of these jackets for so long! I love the style of the shearling jacket with the faux fur lining and trims coupled with belt detailing at the bottom. With this one being cropped and light in colour it lends itself well to transitional summer to autumn fashion as that extra layering BFF we need to reach for. The faux fur is so soft and cosy, yet not too thick it’s too heavy for this season.

The style of the jacket is flattering on everyone I feel. With me being more on the petite side I feel it helps to lengthen my body with it being a shorter jacket. Bonus for me!
