What I Got For Christmas 2018

And just like that, Christmas has come to pass. Is anyone else finding themselves in that strange limbo period where you don’t know what day it is?! I get so mixed up with my days I don’t know whether I’m coming or going. I’ve been so busy preparing for the big day and all of sudden it’s been and gone in a flash! I’m sure each year is getting quicker.

How was your Christmas? I hope you had a lovely day however you spent it. We had the day at home and the family came over for lunch and plenty of Buck’s Fizz! I love how Christmas brings about tradition and we often find ourselves doing things we often forget during the year. One of the best things I enjoyed over Christmas was a break from social media. I feel so much better for it and in a good place to start of the new year.

Ok, so on to the good stuff!!

The Goodies

So without any further ramblings let’s jump into the lovely gifts I have to talk about. I’m going to start out with my gifts which don’t really fall into a beauty or fashion category. Among my family and friends it’s no secret I’m a huge Queen fan, Freddie Mercury specifically. I received a gorgeous glass bauble which has Freddie Mercury in his iconic pose on. I also got a portable turn table inside of a small retro suit case and of course some Queen vinyl, and a DVD of a Queen documentary. Whether I can reach the end without being reduced to tears in another thing!

If this isn’t the best time to burn candles I don’t know when is! I’m not alone in this because I unwrapped a delightfully scented Yankee Candle with a silver shade to place on top.

This next gift is really special because it’s personalised and it’s all about my little fur baby. It is a book that tells the story of Charlie from Newcastle and his owner Melanie on a little adventure. It comes with a matching cup, perfect for a cup of tea while I sit down to read the story.

Beauty & Skincare

My loved ones really spoiled me with some incredible beauty and skincare gifts! Starting out with the beauty gifts, I received the gorgeous and generously sized might I add, Jeffree Star Blood Sugar Palette. I’m obsessed with the colours in this and I can’t wait to create some looks with it. To complete the eye look I got my favourite, Lancôme Hypnose Mascara Set.

A brand I really fell in love with in 2018 was Fenty Beauty so you can imagine my delight at unwrapped two Liquid Lipsticks in the shades Uncuffed and Unbuttoned and a Gloss Bomb in the shade Diamond Milk. I absolutely adore the original Fenty Glow shade so I can’t wait to try out this one, I need to try Fu$$y next.

What would Christmas be without a perfume or two. I love to received as well as gift perfume and I got a couple of incredible ones from Santa this year. The first, Lancôme Tresor La Nuit which is a little different from my usual scents but that’s why I love it. Last but by no means least I unwrapped Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir in the stunning limited edition gold bottle. Who doesn’t love to find some Jo Malone goodness under the tree, right?!

As I’ve been making a greater effort with my skincare in 2018 I received some lovely new products to add into my routine, and some old favourites. I received my favourite Glamglow Supermud set, Kiehl’s Ultra Cream and Midnight Recovery Concentrate, Murad Environmental Shield Set and a Clinique Pep-Start Set.  In addition to all of those fab gifts I also got a bath and body Set from Grace Cole, and a gift card for a spa day at Matfen Hall.

Clothing

On to the clothes and accessories, I picked out quite a few of these things myself on a trip to Edinburgh before Christmas. I can’t get enough of cosy jumpers at the moment and I received a few to keep me going into 2019. One a little more seasonal was the grey and pink fairisle jumper on from Dorothy Perkins, I loved it the second I saw it. I also got a gorgeous pink chenille jumper, pink scarf and a pair of pyjamas from DP. Next up was a cream knit jumper embellished in pearls, the softest grey jumper I’ve ever felt and an equally soft pink scarf.

I got a fresh pair of my favourite Adidas Leggings and black River Island Leggings because Charlie often sees to it my others have little clicks in them. Thanks Chaz! Finally, my last gift was a cosy pair or slipper boots, another Christmas favourite.

Accessories

Accessories next, and I unwrapped a gorgeous silver ring, a second silver Buckley ring, and necklace with a cute little crown hanging from it. My obsession with handbags has not gone unnoticed, nor my love of Carvela bags inparticular. I received a gorgeous black Carvela Bag, it’s a crossbody bag which are my favourite.

This final and possibly the one I’m most excited about is a gift I used money I received to go towards and really treat myself. After swooning hard over this and much back and forth over whether to buy or not to buy, I bit the bullet and got it. I give you my new and very beautiful Mulberry Small Bayswater handbag in the black grain leather. This is my first Mulberry and after spending years admiring them from afar I finally took the plunge and bought my own.

That wraps up this years What I Got For Christmas post and I hope you have enjoyed reading it as much as I have putting it together.

I’ll link my post from last year here if you’d like to take a look.

How did you spend your Christmas? What did you find under your tree?
