Oh my goodness, well it’s been a while hasn’t it?! It feels like an age ago I sat in front of my MacBook and heard the tapping of the keyboard. When I first parked myself in front of my computer I legit didn’t know where to start. There were a million and one icons all flagged as errors or updates. That in itself took a little bit of sorting. Please remind me not to take so long away again.

My accidental but necessary break has been the longest I’ve taken away from my blog since I started it. There were points I did question coming back at all, but this is my baby. I’ve muddled my way through learning as I go. I can’t just turn my back on it. It’s like anything, and life in general really. Sometimes we take on too much and something’s gotta give. I guess for me it was my blog, it definitely took a back seat but I feel that it was due. I wasn’t in the right place with it and sometimes I felt as though I was blogging for blogging sake, and not cause I loved it. Rather than share substandard content I’d rather take a break and come back ready to share something I’m proud of.

After taking time to focus on other key areas in my life I’m feeling better than ever. I feel fresh and ready to return to the blogging world with a lot of ideas. This post was actually meant to be May favourites but since that ship has sailed, and it’s been a while. I give you my Spring and Summer favourites. So now I’ve addressed my 3 odd month hiatus, let’s take a look at what I’ve loved throughout Spring and thus far into Summer.

I think I’ve rambled for a sufficient amount of time by now. So without further ado let’s take a look at my favourites and ohhhhh my gosh, it’s a good one! I might be biased but this months edition is extra special.

Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis Monogram Empreinte

With it being my birthday in May I took advantage of the opportunity to splurge. As you can see from my featured image it shows a very icon yellow box from none other than Louis Vuitton! Eeek, I die! I still can’t believe I finally own the bag I’ve lusted after for years! I’ve been a bag lady for as long as I can remember. It has always been my dream and goal to begin my own luxury collection. The cost has always put me off until now. It is still crazy to me to spend so much on a bag, but if it makes me happy and I can, why not? Life’s short so I decided to buy the damn bag. This is the second luxury bag in my collection. I’ve decided to used birthdays and Christmas’ as special occasions to grow my collection.

Ok, so the BAG!

Hailed as Louis Vuitton’s holy grail it-bag. I am of course talking about the Pochette Metis. It’s such a beautiful design and it’s ideal for me as I adore over body handbags. I struggled to decide on the black leather or monogram print, after doing some research I went for the black Empreinte. I’m so happy with my decision, it’s perfect!

I’m so in love with it. Initially, I felt incredibly guilty for spending as much on a bag but I’ve always dreamt of owning one. So really, why the hell not I ask. I’m going to feature the Pochette Metis in all her glory in a stand-alone post so I won’t overdo it in this one.

Louis Vuitton Emilie Wallet

This came entirely off the back of having got the Pochette Metis, I thought an LV purse would be the perfect accompaniment. I opted for the simple, and beautiful Emilie Wallet in classic Monogram print with Rose Ballerine on the inner section. In keeping with the saying the devil is in the detail, I opted for the gold hot stamping on the inside flap. It’s such a simple, but stunning addition to an already gorgeous wallet.

Much like the bag, I dedicated a certain amount of time to researching the Emilie Wallet. One stand out feature for me was the size. It fits my typical purse items, alongside my phone (iPhone 8 plus) lip balm, and chewing gum making it the perfect clutch size too. I mean, who doesn’t love a good old multitasking item. It’s also slim enough to fit into my handbag without being too big or bulky.

The perfect partner for my beautiful Pochette Metis. Again, I also plan to feature this in a stand-alone post also, or maybe with the bag. I’m still undecided but she will get her own spotlight.

Jo Malone Silk Blossom Cologne

Oh, how I adore the blossoms collection at this time of year. Jo Malone never fails to amaze me when it comes to their limited collections. Already a huge fan of the brand and their scents, I can’t resist a new launch. One of my favourites from this year’s Blossoms collection is Silk Blossom. It is a delicate sweet scent that settles beautifully into the skin.

When I first heard about 2019s collection and learned that Star Magnolia was coming back I was so excited to get a bottle. Now that I have both I actually have to say that I prefer Silk Blossom. I love the pink packaging too. It smells like a pink scent if that makes any sense?

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer – Fu$$y

The original gloss bomb lip luminizer has had an honourable mention or two on the blog. I absolutely love it and it’s one of my favourite lip products ever. As a beauty junkie that’s a bold statement. But there you have it. What can I say? It rocks my world. So naturally, you can imagine my excitement at discovering Rihanna has launched more shades!

Fu$$y is best described as a shimmering dusty pink. It is a beautifully soft, subtle pink that adds just the right amount of colour. It is both stunning worn alone or on top of a lipstick. The formula and texture and that which I know and love. That luscious glossy sheen without feeling cakey or tacky and with shimmer in abundance. Another hit for me.

Fenty Beauty Lil Bronze Duo – Sun Stalk’r & Matchstix Duo

I do love a value set and this one proved too much to resist. Doubling up I got the new and raved about bronzer alongside a Matchstix shimmer stick. I opted for the lighter or the two duos on offer. I’ve heard and read rave reviews about the new bronzers from all over the globe. Fellow beauty lovers can’t get enough! I had to see what all of the fuss was about, as a beauty blogger you could argue it is my duty? That’s my excuse and a free pass to the odd beauty purchase or ten! You know how it is with so much on offer to tempt you in. Could you resist? If you’re nodding along you’re a stronger person than I am.

Anyway, I digress. Back to the cute and aptly named “Lil Bronze Duo”. I have to admit I do appreciate the names Rihanna gives her products. The bronzer in this set is in the shade “Shady Biz“, it is a light bronzer with warm undertones. It is best suited to those with a lighter skin tone. It is the perfect shade for my skin and it blends like a dream. Creamy, pigmented, buildable and most importantly, blendable! What more could you ask for? Fenty is ticking all of my bronzer boxes. Can we take a second to appreciate the packaging too? The entire brand range is so aesthetically pleasing it is the perfect companion for any beauty vanity.

I think that is ample swooning over the bronzer, she isn’t the only star here. Let’s make way for the shimmer Matchstix in the shade “Sinamon“. It is such a stunning warm shimmer and it looks beautiful on the skin. It pairs up perfectly with the bronzing powder. A fab little value set for anyone keen on trying out either or both of the products included. This duo will give the perfect sun-kissed appearance for the summer.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Eyeshadow Palette

This was the palette I never knew I needed. After seeing it raved about all over the internet and some to-die-for makeup looks, I caved. It was added to cart many a time before I finally checked out. What’s a girl to do when Cult Beauty slides into my inbox offering a rare 20% off ABH?! She checks the f out and buys the palette, no questions asked.

Oh my goodness, it’s such a stunning palette and the shades are perfection. I tend to go for warm-toned palettes so there’s a gap in my life that the Sultry palette fills nicely. ABH has mastered their craft when it comes to palettes. You can trust that you’re buying a quality product with your hard-earned cash. The outer packaging is just as gorgeous adored in glitter upon glitter.

Despite calling this a cool-toned palette I feel you get a good mix of both warm and cool-toned shades. It is both neutral and versatile with some fun shades in to mix things up. The Sultry palette lends itself well to creating both daytime and evening looks making it the perfect go-to all-in-one palette. I can’t quite believe I almost didn’t buy this. Nothing haunts you like the things you didn’t buy right?

Nest Candle Co Soleil Luxury Soy Candle

This is such a delight to behold, it smells like summer in a jar! I’d read the description and reviews on this and I knew I’d like it. I wasn’t expecting to fall quite as in love with it as I did. It was love at first sniff if you will. This delicious scent combination of tropical coconut, warm evening breeze, sweetened with a hint of vanilla and almond will give you all of the summer feels.

Milk Makeup Kush Lip Glaze

If I’m being honest, I feel that the word glaze actually does this a bit of a disservice. To me when I hear glaze, I envisage a sticky and gooey product, a bit like a Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut. We all know how sticky and messy they get right? They might taste good, but the aftermath is not pretty. Does anyone else really fancy a doughnut right about now? I know I do.

I’m not quite sure how Milk manages to do it but they have created a lip glaze that gives a high gloss finish without being in any way sticky. I really hadn’t expected to love this as much as I do in truth. That said it’s a great thing to find a real stand out product when you didn’t expect it. I feel that this lasts well on the lips and I don’t find myself reapplying very often. I also love the applicator, it gives the right amount of coverage and it coats the lips beautifully.

Formulated with help-derived cannabis oil to offer hydration to parched lips. It is also laced with jojoba and olive oils to keep free radicals at bay and to soothe inflammation.

So that wraps up my long over-due favourites post. I hope you enjoyed it and you can find similar posts here.

Have you tried anything I’ve talked about in this post?

  1. I love the Fenty duo. I didn’t like the shimmer stick at first, it looked really weird on the face but then I tried it on top of eyeshadow and metallic lipstick, it’s amazing on both! Now I really want the Gloss Bomb but it’s always sold out here.
    I loved the blog! 🙂
