This is the second new release in as many weeks from Charlotte, oh how she does spoil us. The Goddess Cleansing Ritual. That’s some name, and I bet it would intrigue any beauty addict, especially as Charlotte Tilbury is such a coveted brand. Always in search of my inner glowing goddess, it’s fair to say that I was more than intrigued by this duo.

Charlotte Tilbury has some incredible beauty products, some with cult status and a skincare line to boot. Can she do no wrong? I guess that comes down to personal preference. For me, I’ve yet to try a product I didn’t like or enjoy. Every last detail has been thought of, my personal favourite touch is the trademark star on both outer and inner packaging. Very subtle and very classy. Very Charlotte Tilbury.

So by now, you’ve probably guessed I’m a huge fan of the brand so enough of me fan girlin’ and back to the Goddess Cleansing Ritual. The hero of today’s post.

I’ve been trying this for weeks now, I have tested it long enough to form a good opinion and share my thoughts over here on my little slice of the internet.

What exactly is the Goddess Cleansing Ritual?

This is a cleansing duo that includes a muslin cloth and it is designed to hydrate and brightening while it detox’s the skin. It’s very much in keeping with the increasingly popular double cleanse.

Charlotte Tilbury Double Cleanse

Ritual 1 – What Makes The Goddess Of Glow Magic?

This is a citrus oil radiance cleanser that has been formulated with antioxidant vitamin C to both brighten and even skin tone. It is rich in bacuri butter which has a wealth of vitamins and minerals which aid with skin barrier function whilst nourishing the skin. Inca inchi oil works to improve texture and dryness which can lead to scaliness and loss of skin barrier function. Kalahari watermelon seed oil harnesses balancing and brightening properties from its linolenic acid, and vitamins A, C and E. Finally using a combination of bergamot, rose and lemon essential oils creates a calming, enlivening and anti-stress effect.

Ritual 2 – What Makes The Goddess Of Attraction Magic?

Ritual 2 is a purifying charcoal cleanser with bamboo charcoal. It is rich in magnesium and calcium to both purify and detox the skin. Nordic beauty peat soothes and calms the appearance with a combination of humic and fulvic acids, bio-minerals, vitamins, amino and fatty acids. It is this formula that helps to re-establish the skins natural pH balance. Last but not least vitamin B3 helps to improve skin barrier function while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also aids with minimising pores, and blemishes.

My Thoughts

Already a big fan of the popular double cleanse, I knew I would like this. If Charlotte Tilbury is putting her name to something it’s fair to say it’s going to be pretty damn good. I had high hopes from the outset and I wasn’t disappointed. I have combination skin, made all the more oily now I’ve stopped taking the pill. I’m finding myself reaching for a lot more charcoal-based products to help to combat my newfound excess oil. This powerhouse duo works together perfectly to leave my skin thoroughly cleansed and purified.

I feel that I could happily use both Ritual cleansers on a daily basis, but I don’t know how drier skin might fair? As much as I adore charcoal in skincare I can find it a little drying on my cheeks and forehead where I don’t suffer oiliness. Ritual 1 leaves my skin deeply cleansed and visibly brighter, it feels hydrated and cared for. It is the perfect canvas to then proceed with the Ritual 2 charcoal cleanser.

I’d definitely say you can use them together, or pick and choose between them. I’m not necessarily sure that all skin types might enjoy both together on a daily basis. I’ve been left suitably impressed by the appearance of my skin having used this, and I’ll continue to repurchase. Priced at £32.50 for the duo it isn’t offensive. It works out £16.25 per cleanser plus you get a muslin cloth included too. When you consider it’s by Charlotte Tilbury you might even say it works out good value for money. Especially when you consider some skincare products cost way more for a single item.

  1. For some reason, I’ve seen very few reviews of this duo! My skin is like the Sahara so I don’t think this duo would be quite right for it xx

  2. I wanted to pick these up but after the initial hype, very few people seemed to talk about them. I’m a fan of a double cleanse too.

  3. This sounds really interesting ! I haven’t actually tried any of her line skincare but I do have some of her very secret magic cream before it became a brand as I used to work with her! x

  4. I absolutely love the packaging! My skin is pretty combination, but sometimes it can be really oily and other times quite dry.. sounds like this would be ideal for my more oily skin days. I agree that the price point is quite impressive too. Sounds like a winner! 🙂

  6. i’ve tried a few mini version products like the magic cream and I incredibly didn’t like it!

i have combo skin and dry skin so finding a balance is always a mission! but I feel like the citrus cleanser would be gentle!(:
