So it’s no secret that the winter can be harsh and not just when it comes to the weather. Whether it be the nip of a winter chill, or maybe it’s just that winter slump we find ourselves in. For me, January is like that all month. In January I am 100% on the struggle bus. One thing guaranteed to pick me up is a winter self-care pamper routine. It is so important that we take care of ourselves all year round, but I feel winter calls for that bit extra.
The combination of cold winter air and central heating, a recipe for happy skin they do not make. We could all benefit from a winter pamper routine to keep our bodies in tip-top condition. Not only that but I always feel so much better after a good old fuss so it’s really a win-win. This is my personal pamper routine, there are so many products you can use that suit you.
Bath Time Goodness
While my bath is running I add a generous helping of Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Bath & Shower Oil. It adds a soothing, comforting scent of lavender to soak away any stress. Before any products touch my skin I take my body brush and give my full body a good going over. This helps to loosen up any dead skin cells and prep my skin for exfoliation.
After a good old soak and inhaling all of the relaxing aromas from my bath oil I’m ready to shampoo and prep my hair for some serious TLC. My hair masque of choice is Coco & Eve Super Nourishing Coconut & Fig Hair Masque. While I leave that to work its magic it’s time to grab my favourite shower gel. As this is a pamper to give that extra feel-good factor I opt for a more indulgent shower gel than my day-to-day. It has to be Molton Brown. So delicious and luxurious Molton Brown is the only choice for me when it comes it comes to indulgent bathing.
Brushed, washed and ready to get my scrub on and remove the skin that body brushing loosened up. My current favourite scrub is my Dermalogica Thermafoliant Body Scrub* (Gifted). It heats on application to give you a better exfoliation. There’s nothing I love more than the feeling of freshly exfoliated, smooth skin. Heaven!
Post Bath Pampering
There’s no right or wrong way to doing this, it’s personal preference really. I don’t do anything with my facial skincare until I get out of the bath. I find I get too hot and bothered to do while in the tub and I don’t feel fresh afterwards. So once I have done my regular cleanser with my Foreo Luna I grab my all-time favourite, ride or die mask. My Glamglow Supermud! This mask absorbs the excess oil from my skin and leaves my pores looking virtually none existent! This has been my number one for such a long time.
Now my hair and skincare are in hand it’s time to move on to moisturising my body. I tend to go between both body lotion and butter, but this routine is all about indulgence so body butter wins. My favourite is my Laura Mercier Creme Brulee Souffle Body Creme. It leaves my skin so smooth and nourished and I cannot get enough of the smell.
After rinsing the remnants of my hair masque away, and there’s not a lot leftover that my hair hasn’t soaked up, I apply a leave-in treatment. In the winter I always opt for an oil and my current love is Oribe Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil. It leaves my hair in such beautiful condition and it looks so healthy.
Finally, to round off my winter pamper routine I coat my face in Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Hydrating Mask. It works to plump, restore and strengthen skin and helps to hydrate parched complexions by improving moisture levels while I sleep. Not forgetting my lips I apply a generous layer of Clinique Moisture Surge Lip Hydro Plump Treatment.
After a marathon pamper session when I’m feeling like I’ve just about bathed away the winter blues I love nothing more than to round my pamper off by snuggling up with a cup of tea and a good book.

There’s nothing better than relaxing in a warm bath when it’s cold outside. I recently used hand and foot masks which left my skin feeling so soft! Will definitely have to try the Glamglow Supermud mask.
