FOREO UFO Review- Smart Mask Treatment

Ok, so there are two things you should know about me. 1, I love FOREO. 2, I’m a sucker for a new skincare tool/device/wonder product. Naturally, when I got wind of the FOREO UFO Smart Mask Treatment device I was more than a little intrigued. I patiently bided my time waiting on the verdict from the skincare world to see if it was a must or another gimmick.

As it turns out, and in keeping with the rest of the FOREO family it has taken the beauty world by storm. Alongside loving the brand and seemingly being unable to resist the latest skincare trends, the UFO is now part of my skincare routine.

So what is the FOREO UFO Smart Mask Treatment I hear you ask?

What does UFO even mean? Well, apparently it stands for “ur future obsession”. I don’t know how true that is but there we go. Anyway, back to the UFO. In Short, the device used a combination of heat, cooling, LED light technology and Sonic pulsations to raise your face masking game to a whole other level. FOREO have coined all of the above “Hyper Infusion Technology”.

FOREO has created Koran skincare sheet masks specially designed to fit the UFO.

Let’s take a closer look at each thing the UFO does in a little more detail.

Foreo UFO

What does the FOREO UFO do?

Warming: As the UFO gradually warms into Thermo-Therapy Mode it infuses the skin with Active Mask Ingredients. Heat makes the mask more effective in a shorter time.

Cooling: Cryo-Therapy Mode works to diminish the appearance of pores and reduced puffiness. The UFO instantly cools to refresh the skin.

Sonic Pulsations: Designed to give the feeling of a facial massage to soothe the skin. This patented technology boosts absorption of the active mask leaving the skin with a healthy glow.

LED Light Technology: You get 3-in-1 targeted photofacials in one home device. Using UV-free phototherapy red, green and blue LED light wavelengths to rejuvenate the skin.

The device pairs up to a smartphone app. It has AM and PM mask programmes that run through a series of the above Hyper Fusion Technology sequences. The device comes with a Make My Day sheet mask and FOREO have a whole host of others available to purchase separately. I also have Call It A Night masks.

Impressive isn’t it? I certainly think so.

A few more tidbits about the FOREO UFO. It is fully waterproof. The device charges via a USB cable. It is suitable for all skin types and made using ultra-hygienic silicone. Each device comes with a 2-year warranty. A FOREO UFO retails for £169 (at time of writing on FOREO’s website). It comes in three colours, baby pink, baby blue and hot pink. There is a plastic ring that is removable that secures the sheet mask onto the device.

It comes with a charging cable, a clear stand to rest the device on and one Make My Day sheet mask.

Foreo Activated Mask

So now you know what it does but is it worth it and do you need it?

The device is lightweight, comfortable and easy to use. You have the option to use the device with or without the app. For the AM mode, you press the button on the device once, and twice for the PM mode.

The sequence of Hyper Infusion Technology works perfectly to ensure that every drop of ingredients in the sheet masks is absorbed into the skin. The heat and sonic pulsations especially help my skin to drink up all of the goodness and it also makes the rest of my skincare absorb better too.

I use the device 3/4 times per week and it didn’t take long to notice an improvement in my overall tone. My skin looks brightened, plumped and healthier while my pores and fine lines are minimised. As I’ve mentioned I use the Make My Day mask which is infused with Hyaluronic acid and red algae for deep hydration. In the evening I use Call It A Night which has been formulated with ginseng and olive oil to nourish and revitalise.

Each box of both Make My Day and Call It A Night contain 6 individually packaged sheet masks and retail for £9.99. As I said you can buy other types of masks with varying prices depending on the ones you go for.

My Final Thoughts

Overall I’m really enjoying using the UFO and I have noticed an improvement in my skin. It fits into my routine perfectly and it isn’t time-consuming at all. I love how it works with the app saving each mask you use by scanning the bar-code on the packet. It runs a program based on the chosen mask and it talks you through each step and how it works.

A little cheat I’ve found to work well is to put my sheet mask back into the packet to absorb the excess product leftover and I use it again. Gotta stretch the £££. I definitely wouldn’t suggest doing it more than twice. There will still be leftover product inside the packaging. I tend to use it as a regular serum to make sure I get the most from it.

Personally, I feel that this is worth the money, it’s a great item to have in my routine. It isn’t something I’d say you need, that’s completely depending on your own situation. However, I do definitely recommend it though if like me you’re a skincare junkie. It will be a real asset to your skincare regime.
