My Weekend Morning Routine

I’ve specifically stated my weekend morning routine as my rushed and somewhat chaotic weekday morning routine isn’t worth mentioning really. Sometimes it’s all a bit of a blur to be honest with you. More so if I’ve had a later night than usual! The weekend is my time. I don’t really have anything to get up and rush about for. I take advantage of the opportunity to get my days off to the right start, in my own time.

When I first wake up I tend to grab my phone, it’s a bit like my morning newspaper equivalent really. I browse through my social media and catch up and the last nights goings on, check my emails etc.

Although my weekends are my time I do still like to be as productive as I can and make the most of being off work. One of the best ways I’ve found to encourage productivity is to get a wash before I even head downstairs. I’m a bath gal so I’ll usually put the bath on and sort my clothes for the day while it runs.

I don’t make it too deep where I’d be inclined to lie about for a while like on an evening. Now thats me washed and I’ve cleansed my face, sometimes I’ll exfoliate as I have more time and I can often forget during the week. Tut tut, I know. I then follow on with my morning skincare routine which I’ve linked below if you want to take a look.

Depending on the days plans I’ll either stick my cosy, lounge type clothes on or get dressed ready for heading out. Because I’m mother to a fur baby the first thing I have to do on any given morning is let him out. The next and most important thing I do is stick the kettle on! You can’t beat the first cuppa of the day! There’s nothing quite like the smell of coffee in the morning!

Thanks to the lovely team at Rombouts Coffee I’m well stocked!! I do love coffee but I have to confess I never drink the coffee in jars. However, I do love a trip to Costa for a latte or flat white. The only coffee I tend to make at home is the coffee that goes inside of the cafeteria to brew before pouring.

Rombouts have introduced me to a whole new world of coffee at home with their one cup filter coffees* and roast*, ground coffee* made using a cafetière*. They offer a whole host of flavours and strengths to try, I tend to air on the lighter side when it comes to my coffee so I preferred the original one cup filters the most. You take a filter and place it over your cup, pour and wait while it slowly filters the perfect cup. It tastes exactly like a cafe bought coffee in my opinion. It’s perfectly paired with their delicious café biscuits*.

Now that I’ve sunk my first coffee of the day, the next part depends on what my day will consist of. One option (the healthier option) would see my grab my gym bag and head off to put in a morning session in. I like to try to get there at least one of my weekend mornings. Option two would be to get some breakfast on the go, it’s my favourite meal of the day and having the luxury of time on my side over a weekend I can make something far more appealing than a bowl of cereal. Poached eggs with spinach and tomatoes, or pancakes are both favourites of mine to start the day off right.

From there I love to have the opportunity to get some blog work done at my leisure. You’ll often find me taking photos (you can’t beat the morning daylight), frantically tapping away at my keyboard as I pour all of my thoughts into my posts, or enjoying my second brew of the day while reading other blogs and leaving comments.

So that’s how my typical weekend mornings begin, how do yours look?

I’ve also shared my morning skincare and evening skincare routines if you enjoyed this post and would like to take a look.

  3. i hate stressful mornings. I’ve been trying recently to wake up earlier, more gently and do half an hour of house work or blog work as my evenings and weekends become super crazy other wise. I love a rombouts coffee too, i worked with them a few months back and I’m already out of stock!

  4. I have a similar weekend morning routine – the first thing I always do is check my phone. I would love to try Jo Malone, I’ve heard great things!

  5. Honestly, my weekend mornings don’t look much different from my weekday mornings! I work from home and tend to work throughout the weekend as well because my boyfriend usually works weekends. The only difference is I usually get to spend a bit more time with my Mum during the weekend, which is nice. But I always start my day with breakfast and some Yoga 🙂 xxx

  16. Yes! Weekends are for relaxing and taking your time to do things. I need to venture out of my illy coffee snobbery and try more brands! Is it strong or is it quite creamy in taste? x

  17. My weekends used to be similar until Rosie came along! The coffee looks fab, my boyfriend is obsessed with coffee but I’m more of a tea drinker so I’m going to tell him about this brand! Xx

  19. I wish, I actually had a proper routine on weekends, cause I just try to sleep as long as possible, don’t eat properly and regularly, which is not good for my body, and then hang around my bed a lot. Actually, wayyy too much. I catch up on TV shows, hopefully get some blogging done snd just chill. Although on Sunday’s, I get frustrated for not having done enough, so I try and then always end up going to bed too late. And I applaud you for going to the gym. 😀

  20. Quite similar to my morning routine. After dealing with all my furs baby and attend my bed I take a nice shower (I have no bathtub and I miss having one) I drink a cup of coffee while I read the news later on I spend half of my days either making plan for a next project or paint something.

    Lovely post!
