Discovering A New Brand: Antipodes

(Features press samples and affiliate links)

Not only have I discovered a new brand with Antipodes, I’ve also discovered that I’ve been butchering the name in my pronunciation! I’ve been very wrong in reading the name as it is spelled, but after hearing others pronouncing it, it is actually sounded out like “antipudies” or “antipodies” depending upon your accent and locality. So there you have it, a little bit of brand trivia for those who like myself didn’t realise. Oops!

If you’re reading this I can assume that you’re into beauty and skincare like myself, so I can also probably assume you’ll be familiar with Antipodes or at least have heard of them. They’re a skincare brand which originates from New Zealand and it’s popularity has soared the past couple of years! Every man and their dog seem to be talking about Antipodes and raving about how amazing their products are.

Antipodes pride themselves on being an innovative natural and organic skincare brand, they believe that only the best ingredients come from nature and they source them in New Zealand, using the highest quality, raw super-fruit extracts to allow them to produce premium formulations. Antipodes are fully certified as cruelty free and vegetarian with some vegan products also.

I can barely contain my excitement at finally being able to try this brand for myself and see what all the fuss is about. I love and agree whole heartedly with the brands ethics and vision, the products are revered among beauty lovers worldwide! It was only a matter of time before I tried them, they had been on my radar for some time.

The two products I’m going to tell you about in this post were very kindly gifted to me, however I have since went out and bought a bunch of my own products from Antipodes. So yes, spoiler but I really do love them and everything I’ve tried so far!!

So one of the first things that jumped out at me was the packaging, particularly the products that come in the aluminium tubes, it’s a little bit different to anything else I own and I’m a big fan! I definitely get some retro and medicinal vibes from them which I’m totally here for!

Ok, enough of my rambling, lets jump into the good stuff and the real reason you’re here, the products!

Antipodes Skincare Divine Face Oil Organic Avocado Delight Hand and Body cream

Divine Face Oil Organic Avocado Oil & Rosehip*

Lets just get this out-of-the-way and move on, this smells a bit funky, I have used some pungent oils in the past, but this one really takes the prize for the most pungent. Despite is smelling as unpleasant as it does, I feel that the more I use this product the less aware of it I become. This oil is made with 100% natural and organic ingredients which are the best for our skin, so what if it doesn’t smell great, the results are too good not to continue to use this.

Formulated with 100% pure avocado oil, sweet orange rind and jasmine petal it works to nourish and hydrate the skin. Rosehip is a popular ingredient in skincare and for good reason, it is famed for protecting the skin, increasing cell turnover due to it containing beta carotene (a form of vitamin A), vitamin C and vitamin E which are all antioxidants that help fight free radicals.

Cold pressed avocado oil is one of the richest sources of beneficial monounsaturated fatty acids like oleic acid. Not only is avocado oil extremely good at hydrating and softening your skin, is it also often recommended as an effective treatment for acne and blackheads, eczema and other forms of skin inflammation.

I really don’t feel like I need to say much more, this oil sells itself. The ingredients used speak for themselves. I only have good things to say about this product, since I started using this oil my skin is brighter, more plumped with an overall more youthful appearance. My skintone is more even and the overall condition considerably better, I look healthier and hydrated and I will 100% continue to use this and repurchase time and time again. I use this each night as the final step in my skincare routine, I take 2/3 drops and pat or press it into my skin.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone, I believe we all should have an oil in out skincare routines, whats more, this one is so reasonably priced I feel, £21.99 for 30ml and because you use such small quantities it will last for a while too.

The oil comes in a glass bottle with a dropper in the cap making it safe and hygienic to use. This is my preferred method of packaging for an oil, most tend to come this way.

Antipodes Skincare Divine Face Oil Organic Avocado Delight Hand and Body cream

Delight Hand & Body Cream*

A light yet rich cream to soften the skin while exuding a fragrance of vintage gardenia which is fresh and light, the aroma reminds me of newly washed linens just off the line. Infused with silky macadamia nut oil which richly hydrates and leaves your skin cushiony smooth. Marigold bloom oil helps soften the most parched areas, and revolutionary Vinanza Grape will help free your skin from dryness. Nutrient-rich avocado oil hydrates the skin, increasing collagen production to keep the skin supple.

See what I mean about the ingredients only being the best to truly care for the skin?! This cream manages to be incredibly hydrating and nourishing without being greasy or tacky, it is quickly and easily absorbed so you don’t have to stand naked like a scare crow for any length of time while you wait for it to sink in enough to dress. It works wonders on my skin, even my stubborn areas of dry skin, not to mention on my eczema. My skin is left baby soft and hydrated with an almost velvet like texture.

The packaging is made from a recyclable aluminium tube and 100% biodegradable cardboard from sustainable forests. A treat for the skin while helping the environment, could I love this brand anymore? They tick all of the boxes.

I am so blown away by the products I’ve tried, it wasn’t long before I ordered a whole bunch more to try. Stay tuned to see how I get on with them in another post. I honestly cannot speak highly enough of this brand and the products that I’ve tried, and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity too as it has opened me up to an incredible brand.
