Finally!! It’s been a while since a new brand launch got me as excited as this one when I first heard about it. Fenty Beauty landed with a bang in all the right ways. They really set the gold standard for where brands need to be with their products and colour ranges. They’ve changed things for the better in the beauty world and now they’re bringing us skincare.

I had no idea what to expect from Fenty Skin when I first heard about it. However, what I did know was that I would be buying it regardless!

“Fenty Skin is skincare uncomplicated”

Now that Fenty Skin has launched I think what they’ve done is actually pretty genius. They’ve released three “non-negotiable” products for the initial launch. Often we see brands launch with an overwhelming array of products to choose from. Fenty Skin is opting for a far simpler approach and I love it. Despite starting out with three products, they’re three hybrid multitasking products so essentially it’s like 6-in-3 kinda deal. Don’t make the mistake of thinking, oh it’s only three products. They are three badass products that pack a punch.

The products are a Total Cleans’r, Fat Water and Hydra Vizor SPF30 Broad Spectrum moisturiser. Each product is as good as the last and I love Fat Water, it’s a completely new product to my skincare game. When it comes to Fenty Beauty one of the things I love most are the unique product names, you can see this carried on in Fenty Skin too.

Fenty Skin

Rihanna has taken inspiration from her global lifestyle to bring us ingredients from around the world. She is driven by clean formulas after a previous bad experience while creating eco-friendly packaging too.

This is what Rihanna had to say about her new brand.

Fenty Skin is my vision of the new culture of skincare – I wanted to create amazing products that really work, are easy to use, and that everyone can apply.”

You can purchase the three products individually or as a trio for a reduced price which has been named Skin Start’rs. In addition to this, you can purchase a refill cartridge for Hydra Vizor rather than repurchase the entire product and packaging again.

Fenty Skin Start’rs – “Your best skin in 3 simple steps. Use together to brighten skin, reduce the look of pores and target dark spots. Clean, vegan, cruelty-free & earth-conscious.”

Total Cleans’r Remove It All Cleanser

This is a 2-in-1 cleanser and makeup remover that states one use is all it takes. I know the double cleanser is popular for many of us and I can attest to this product doing exactly as it claims. I don’t wear much if any makeup but always SPF so my face doesn’t have too much to be removed. If I used this with a face of full coverage makeup I think I’d go in a second time with this just for my own satisfaction.

Total Cleans’r deeply cleans the skin removing oil, dirt, makeup and build-up without stripping the skin of nutrients. My skin feels fresh and thoroughly cleansed after use without ever feeling dry or tight. The formula is creamy and it lathers up with water, the more water the more lather. It applies to the skin like a dream and it smells heavenly. Alongside cleansing, it works to purify pores while fighting off shine, bonus!

Made with:

Barbados cherry (acerola): Every cherry is loaded with more vitamin C than an orange to help brighten

Ginkgo biloba: A tree commonly used in ancient Chinese healing techniques; helps control oil and clarify skin

Green tea: Rich in antioxidants to help defend against environmental stressors

Fig: A desert-loving fruit that’s rich in antioxidants

Quince: A rare fruit—think apple meets pear—that thrives in rough, dry climates; infused with minerals to help condition

I’ve been using this for around 3 weeks and I love it. I feel that a good cleanser is key to laying the foundation for a great skincare routine. This one ticks all of the boxes for me and it is perfect for every skin type. One of my favourite things is how gentle it feels while it works so hard to leave my skin deeply cleansed. It is lightly fragranced with a delicate blend of cherry and coconut, it’s very subtle and definitely not what I expected. The scent is divine and a real joy to use.

Another huge plus point is the packaging. It comes in a tube and a twist cap at the bottom to maintain a hygienic application with every use. The tube and cap are fully recyclable and are actually made using 40% PCR (post-consumer recycled material) It has a safety sticker on the cap to seal rather than use any further packaging.

Total Cleans'r Fat Water

Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum

This hybrid product is a 2-in-1 toner-serum combo that targets pores, improves the look of dark spots, brightens, smooths, and fights shine—all without stripping skin. It’s the master of multitasking and it would be fair to say I was more than a little intrigued by Fat Water. Combining the benefits of a toner and serum this game-changing hybrid product is a revelation. It works wonders on my skin and I can barely see my pores which let me tell you never happens. It works incredibly well at reducing and regulating my oil production around my t-zone also. My skin looks brighter with a more even appearance with oil and shine build-up kept at bay.

Its unique thick texture absorbs instantly; just pour it into your hand to apply. No cotton pads needed = less waste. It’s got all the perks of a serum, too: Nourishing hydration leaves skin smooth, plump, and replenished, never stripped, dry, or tight

Made with:

Niacinamide (a form of Vitamin B3): Helps reduce the look of dark spots, even skin tone, and fight excess shine

Barbados cherry (acerola): Every cherry is loaded with more vitamin C than an orange to help brighten

Australian lemon myrtle & witch hazel water: Help reduce oil and refine pores

Japanese raisin tree: It’s been used for over 1,000 years in Asia as a recovery treatment from long nights of partying; helps detoxify

Cactus flower: Thrives in the desert; helps hydrate

Green tea & fig: Rich in antioxidants to help defend against environmental stressors

Like the cleanser, I have used this for around 3 weeks and I’m a huge fan. I love the same familiar scent and how easily this absorbs into my skin. The texture is very like that of thick water hence the aptly named Fat Water. My skin appears brighter and more youthful, pores reduced and oil regulated. Niacinamide is one of my favourite skincare ingredients so I was delighted to see if feature so prominently in this. It works to protect this skins natural barrier, increases its resiliency, and improves texture by making pores look smaller. It also helps balance oil production.

This would be perfect for any skin type and it’s such a treat for the skin. I would have to say that this is my real stand out product of the three. I adore the full range but Fat Water is extra special.

The product is housed in a streamlined bottle without box for less waste and is fully recyclable. The product is dispensed by twisting the cap to open and tipping it into your hand to allow for a more hygienic application.

Fenty Skin Review - Total Cleans’r, Fat Water & Hydra Vizor

Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen

I love that in the initial launch Rihanna has given us an SPF30 moisturiser right off the bat. This 2-in-1 moisturiser with SPF30 is super lightweight which is something I look for in a facial SPF. It is light pink in colour so that it applies invisibly on all skin tones, which means ZERO white cast HURRAH! It’s easily absorbed into the skin without leaving any greasy residue. It works to brighten the skin while aiding in reducing fine lines and minimising pores. Makeup applies beautifully over the top as it is such a lightweight, oil-free formula and what’s more, no flashback!

I often struggle with SFP as it can make my oily combination skin go a bit crazy. Hydra Vizor doesn’t increase oil production leaving my skin greasy and tacky which is a real plus for me. The texture is lighter than air and it blends into the skin beautifully. I was pleasantly surprised by how well this absorbs into the skin. It has a gorgeous scent that reminds me of a tropical beach.

One thing I absolutely love is that on the application instructions for Hydra Vizor it states “Apply every single day – No excuses”. Do not skip on the SPF.

Made with:

Kalahari melon: A wild watermelon that’s rich in antioxidants and vitamins; helps hydrate

Niacinamide (a form of Vitamin B3): Helps reduce the look of dark spots, even skin tone, and fight excess shine

Hyaluronic acid & aloe: Help hydrate, soothe and condition

Baobab: An African tree that bears nutrient-rich superfruit; helps hydrate

Hydra Vizor is free from nasty chemicals oxybenzone and octinoxate making it environmentally friendly and coral safe. This comes with the outer packaging and inner refillable cartridge housed inside a card box, all materials are recyclable and when it’s time to replenish Hydra Vizor you just need to buy the refill, saving on waste. The packaging is a pump dispenser that you twist to lock so you don’t waste product.

Price: £32.00 Refill cartridge £28.00

Do you need Fenty Skin?

In a word, YES. Yes, you do. If you love skincare and enjoy trying out new brands and products Fenty Skin is very much for you. It is suitable for everyone, all skin types and tones. I will definitely continue to repurchase Fenty Skin in the future and I cannot wait to see what else is in store. I think this initial launch has been executed perfectly and the products and formulas have had a lot of thought put into them. It is great to see Rihanna actively encouraging us all to use an SPF on a daily basis. I also love how the brand keeps the environment at the forefront when creating packaging and formulas.

I’m super impressed by Fenty Skin and I would recommend the products to anyone. If you want to try the products without committing to full size you can buy the Skin Start’r Set with smaller products.

What are your thoughts on Fenty Skin? Will you be trying out any products?
