New Skincare I’ve Added To My Stash

(Features press samples & affiliate links)

If there’s been one really great thing I can take away from 2020, it’s how much I’ve levelled up my skincare game. I’ve spent a lot more time on my skincare routine, tailoring my products and taking time with extra weekly treats. I definitely wasn’t short of skincare but what with my Beauty Pie subscription and discount codes sliding into my inbox I couldn’t resist. Not to mention PR packages arriving on my doorstep and taking advantage of my Boots ad-card points. What can I say, I’m weak when it comes to skincare and boy, do I love a bargain!

One recent brand that most definitely deserves an honourable mention is Fenty Skin. I’ve recently bought all three of their newly launched skincare products and I’ve shared my thoughts in a full post you can read here. I’ve really loved trying out the products and I’m over the moon with how they’ve worked out for me. There is a Cleanser, a hybrid toner serum and an SPF30 moisturiser.

Glow Recipe Papaya Sorbet Enzyme Cleansing Balm

Glow Recipe is a brand I seemingly can’t resist a new product from. As soon as I learned they were coming out with a cleansing balm it was a done deal. I knew I’d be buying this immediately if not sooner. I’m a sucker for a cleansing balm and a sucker for Glow Recipe so I was never going to be able to resist. I’ve been really impressed with everything I’ve tried from Glow Recipe thus far so I have high hopes for this. With the promise of brightening, soothing and pore-purifying oils to nourish the skin while it cleanses was music to my ears.

Biossance 100% Squalane Oil

I first discovered Biossance last year while in Sephora in Orlando but at that point, they weren’t available in the UK. Fortunately, Cult Beauty came through and brought Biossance to the UK, hurrah! I was on the hunt to add a squalane oil to my routine and this one kept cropping up with rave reviews. Something that stood out about this was that it is multi-use and can be used for skin, body and hair! Who doesn’t LOVE a multitasker! I also prefer the pump dispenser as it is far more hygienic and the air can’t get to the product either which is a plus.

Squalene is a fatty molecule found in the skin that is highly versatile. It maintains skins moisture barrier and hydration and is also an antioxidant that has anti-ageing properties for neutralising environmental damage. I’d heard a lot about squalane and realised that my routine was missing this key ingredient. I really love Biossance and I can’t wait to see how this oil works out for me.

Thank you Farmer Water Sun Cream SPF50

An SPF is a non-negotiable when it comes to skincare, I wear one every single day. However, as I air on the side of oily-combination I often find an SPF increases oil production. As soon as I came across this when I was browsing Cult Beauty I immediately added it to my bag. Described as having an ultra-light texture – infusing the skin with hyaluronic acid while deflecting harmful DNA rays. I was sold. The tube is small enough to carry in my handbag for regular top-ups throughout the day. I’m hoping that this is that happy middle ground for me and that it won’t exacerbate my oilier t-zone.

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Oil Serum

Already a fan of the rose hydration skincare from Fresh I couldn’t resist ordering this when I spotted it. I also read some great things about this which only furthered my lust even more. I think that this oil serum will be perfect for my skin as we head for colder weather. It promises to nourish and hydrate the skin while giving a dewy finish, this was music to my ears. I can’t wait to see how this works out. I’m in no doubt it will be a great product I’ll love as much as my others from the rose range.

Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Serum

If there’s one thing Ole Henriksen does well, it’s to give us that lit from within youthful glow we all desire. I have tried everything within the brightening range and it is well-loved. As you could imagine, naturally, I had to add this to my collection. I’ve actually had this for around a month or so and I’m itching to try it, but I try not to have too many serums on the go at once. I’d hate any of them to spoil by being open and not used up before they reach the end of their shelf life.

Dermalogica Hydro Masque Exfoliant*

This landed on my doorstep recently and it sounds divine. It both hydrates and exfoliates the skin in one fell swoop to leave the skin renewed and luminous. For me, Dermalogica can do no wrong. I adore their skincare products with some being my holy grail products. This sounds right up my street and I can’t wait to test it out.

New In Skincare

Elizabeth Arden Skin Illuminating Hydragel Cream

I’d first noticed this through Alice Spake raving about it and I was intrigued. After looking online a little more I was liking what I was hearing. Of course, I wasted no time in placing an order for this taking advantage of my Boots Ad Card points I’d collected. There are few words I feel powerless to resist when it comes to describing skincare. Illuminating, lightweight, hyaluronic acid, duel-action, brightening and luminous are but a few. All of which can be found in the description for this Hydragel cream. Of course, I just had to have it.

Wishful

This is a brand that was firmly on my radar. As soon as Wishful launched my interest peaked. There is no denying that Huda Beauty has some top-notch products so I had high hopes for Wishful. That said I patiently bided my time waiting on reviews and a general consensus of the brand and products before I pulled the trigger. As it turned out my initial thoughts were correct and this armed me with the knowledge I needed to buy. As mentioned earlier I’m a sucker for a cleansing balm so Clean Genie was first on my hit list. Packed full of antioxidants I’m excited to give this blue beauty a whirl.

Next on my list was the recently launched Honey Balm Jelly Moisturiser. It promises to lock in moisture for 24 hours and leave a dewy finish thanks to it being infused with lavender pearls to illuminate the skin. It also includes one of my favourite skincare ingredients, niacinamide so it’s a yes from me. Stay tuned to see how I get on.

Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cleanser

This was on my wishlist for some time, however, with it being a milk cleanser I was unsure as to how it would work on my skin type. Given my love of cleansing balms and how well they work, I thought sod it, I’m having it. So here we are, I’ve yet to try it but I cannot wait to test it out, especially as we head into the autumn and winter. Even an oilier skin needs the hug of a gentle, rich and nourishing cleanser. The final tipping point for me was how Caroline Hirons RAVED about it in her skincare book. For her to speak so highly of a product made me want a piece of that action.

The Inkey List Niacinamide

I’m getting low on my current bottle of niacinamide serum so it made sense to try the one from The Inkey List. Yet another brand I had on my radar and was keen to try out. I do love a great yet affordable brand and by all accounts, this seems to be just that from the reviews I’ve read. I’m quickly discovering that adding niacinamide into my routine works a treat with my oily combo skin. I’m excited to give this a try, especially after seeing such rave reviews. I have high hopes and I’m confident they’ll be exceeded.

Sometimes I think I forget that I only have one face and can only use so many products at any one given time. What can I say? I’m an unapologetic skincare addict and I ain’t quitting.
