PMD Clean Facial Cleansing Device Review

Skincare is one area I never skip or scrimp on. The older I get the worse my obsession becomes. I’m so paranoid with the early onset of fine lines and wrinkles that it drives me to try as many products as I can in a bid to ward off any signs of ageing. I’m lucky to have naturally oily skin, and while it is annoying that I can sometimes look like an oil slick, it’s also a blessing because it takes oilier skin longer to show signs of ageing. So all you oily gals rejoice!! Hurrah! It’s all well and good having more products than a witch doctors cabinet, but we need to ensure we get a good and thorough cleanse and sometimes cleanser and our good old hands just won’t do. Enter PMD.

PMD Beauty have a new member of the family, let me introduce the PMD Clean*. It is a smart cleansing device with over 7000 vibrations a minute, using SonicGlow technology you get a deeper cleanse which also tones and firms the skin to achieve a more youthful appearance. I almost feel that I get a cleansing massage when I use this, we all know the benefits of a massage and that it stimulates blood flow, this is essentially what the PMD Clean does for your face. As the blood flow is stimulated the skins natural collagen production is increased. The PMD Clean is so much more than a facial cleansing device.

The device is made using ultra-hygiene silicon, so you’ll never need to change the head. It is both waterproof and freestanding, the base is a contrasting colour to the main body of the device and it is powered by an AA battery. The head has two difference sides, the cleansing side is made up of small soft silicone bristles to deliver a deep cleanse, while the other side has a wave-like appearance which can be used to massage or to work serums into the skin.

The PMD Clean has four modes to choose from, 1 and 2 are the recommended cleansing modes, while 3 and 4 are suggested for massaging the skin. Mode 1 is gentle vibration, mode 2 is intense pulsation, mode 3 is gentle pulsation and mode 4 is intense pulsation. Serums will be more effective when massaged into the skin as this allows them be absorbed into the deepest layers maximising the benefits. Regular massaging will promote a firmer and more toned appearance.

My Thoughts

Already a fan of facial brushes I was really excited to try this. This has been the first silicon cleansing device I have tried so I was keen to see how I found it would compare to the brushes I’ve previously used. There’s just something about using a cleansing device for a thorough cleanse that you don’t get when you use only your hands. I much prefer to cleanse with a device at least once a day to ensure a deeper and more thorough clean.

Not only does the PMD Clean cleanse to remove makeup, dirt and oil, it also firms and tones the skin to give a more youthful appearance which I am so here for! I have noticed a difference in my skin since using this, it looks considerably brighter, it’s a lot smoother and even with any texture that may have been there gone. If there was one thing I would say it’s that I wish it would work up a better lather with my cleanser, it doesn’t seem to really do a lot do it like other devices I’ve tried. I don’t feel that it compromises the effectiveness of the product or it’s cleaning ability, it’s more down to personal preference.

Whats your favourite way to cleanse?

I have also tried another device from PMD, their Microdermabrasion device which works to gently exfoliate the skin while remover the top layer of dead skin cells to reveal a brighter complexion. I will leave the link here if you would like to take a read.

  2. Ahhh I’ve seen this about on social media so much! I’m a huge fan of silicone cleansing devices so I’m really eager to try this. I find brush cleansing devices too harsh for my sensitive skin which is why I prefer the silicone based ones. This is definitely on my to try list!
