Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Review

We all have a handful of brands we know and love so much so that we are unable to resist the temptation of a new product. Drunk Elephant is one of those brands for me. As I work my way through their skincare range, I love and adore each new product as much as the last.

It is not only the DE products that are pretty awesome, but it’s also their whole ethos. They pride themselves on being a “clean” brand meaning that none of their products contains any of the “suspicious 6”. What that basically means is that they’re free from essential oils, drying alcohols, silicones, chemical sunscreens, fragrance/dyes and SLS. It is the belief of DE that the suspicious 6 are responsible for causing a lot of skin issues. DE have committed themselves to only using only ingredients that either directly benefits the skin’s health or support the integrity and effectiveness of their formulation.

“I really do feel that they bring out the best out in my complexion”

I’m a big fan of the brand and I love how their products work on my skin, I really do feel that they bring out the best in my complexion. The most recent addition to my DE family is their new F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial. It comes to us in the familiar packaging of award-winning cult product TLC Sukari Babyfacial. The packaging has had a baby blue transformation for the launch of F-Balm.

What Is F-Balm?

F-Balm is an overnight mask that works to restore and plump the skin using an electrolyte cocktail to nourish and strengthen the skins natural barrier. The formulation of barrier-replenishing ingredients includes niacinamide, sodium PCA, plant squalane, five forms of ceramides, omega fatty acids and powerful antioxidants. F-Balm effectively rehydrates parched skin, making it soft and plumped. Tiny beads loaded with vitamin F burst during application to deliver extra emollience and soothing hydration. This being the origin of its name, F-Balm.

Like most DE products this also comes with a mini secondary product to use in conjunction with. I notice DE do this a lot and I love their cocktail method. F-Balm is accompanied by T.L.C. Framboos Serum which is a glycolic night serum. It works to refine and resurface the skin to reveal a smoother and more radiant complexion. Now you see why F-Balm and TLC Framboos serum go hand-in-hand. If TLC Framboos serum is used under F-Balm is works to resurface the skin with a gentle exfoliation. This isn’t something I do every night, possibly once or twice depending on my skin.

F-Balm can be used as the final step in your skincare routine or as an overnight mask. I use 1/2 pumps as my last step in my routine or 4 for a thicker overnight mask. The texture isn’t cakey like some overnight masks that cling to your pillowcase when you move. It is comfortable with a silk-like feel. I use it as a mask up to two times a week and the rest I use as my final step.

How Does It Perform?

Since I began using this my skin has never looked so good. It absorbs into the skin beautifully and by morning my complexion is noticeably plumped and deeply hydrated. I have oily-combination skin and since implementing F-Balm into my routine I have found it to be greatly improved. The hydration it gives my skin counters the oil production and my skin doesn’t look as greasy around my t-zone.

The texture of my skin was baby-soft and it looked more toned and radiant. Isn’t that what we all want by morning? The signs of a poor night sleep with never be visible on your face again with this in your skincare routine.

I’m so in love with F-Balm already and I cannot speak highly enough of it. I don’t think it will be long before we’re seeing this product with its very own cult following. It really is as good as it sounds and the great thing is that it is suitable for all skin types.
