I can’t quite believe Christmas has happened! It seems like only two minutes ago I was excitedly buying my advent calendars around mid November. I don’t honestly think I’ve known a year to fly over as quickly as 2017. I hope you all had an amazing time over the festive season, I definitely did. I think I’ve ate my own body weight in food and drank many, many gins! ‘Tis the season to be merry after all!
I love nothing more than watching someone open a gift I’ve picked and watch their reaction. It’s such a lovely feeling to know someone is happy with their gifts. This Christmas my loved ones have well and truly spoiled me. Christmas is my favourite time of the year, and where I do know it’s not about the presents, I do like to take the opportunity to treat my loved ones who I feel really deserve the world.
I personally enjoy reading the what I got for Christmas posts, mainly because I’m a bit nosy. I do know that sometimes they can be met with negativity, but the way I see it is, this is my blog, and I’ll post what I like on it. As should anyone who runs a blog. Hopefully if you’re reading this it is because you also enjoy these posts as much as I do.
I don’t know about you but I love to give and receive perfume at Christmas time, or any gifting occasion really as I feel it makes a really great gift. I’m obviously not the only one who thinks this as I have probably received the most perfume this Christmas than any other time. I was lucky enough to be gifted three bottles of Jo Malone perfume, the scents I got were English Pear and Freesia which also came with the body crème and bath oil to match, Blackberry Bay and Peony and Blush Suede, in addition to that I also received a bottle of the new fragrance by Tiffany.
It’s no secret that I am a bit of a beauty/skincare junkie so when it comes to getting gifts this is an obvious answer and my loved ones definitely agree because they have treated me to some lovely beauty gifts. I opened the deliciously scented Laura Mercier Sweet Temptation Crème Brûlée Duet gift set, it was perfectly timed too as my crème had just ran out! I also received a beautifully presented Ted Baker Gift Set full of bath treats to keep me smelling delightful well into 2018.
Moving onto skincare, I received the beautiful Clarins Double Serum Collection. I am so excited to try this out, the Clarins Double Serum has been on my wishlist and something I had planned on trying once my current night serum runs out. I can’t wait to try this out after hearing such amazing reviews, the set also includes a hand and nail treatment and the cult product, Beauty Flash Balm. They are presented in a gorgeous red toiletry bag, which leads me on to my next gift, a beautiful Cath Kidston toiletry bag and makeup bag to store my new products safely inside.
Over to the beauty side of the gifts I unwrapped two Essie nail polish sets each containing two polishes. One set has a beautiful baby pink named Fiji coupled with a chunky silver glitter named Set In Stone, the other set contains a rich deep berry shade called Bahama Mama and a deep grey coloured named Chinchilly. I love both sets and can’t wait to start using them, Essie are one of my favourite nail polish brands. For my inner MAC lover I received two items from the stunning Snow Ball collection. The MAC Snow Ball Face Bag – Gold Whisper Of Gilt which comes in a beautiful sequin bag with pompom zip and a mini fan brush for the perfect application. The second item from the range was a beautiful Extra Dimension Eyeshadow – Delicate Drift which is a beautiful duo-chrome light pink with rose gold reflects in.
One of my favourite gifts has to be a voucher for a spa day at Stobo Castle, I have been once before and it is absolutely beautiful and the grounds are so picturesque. It is valid for the year so I think I’ll save using it until Summer so I can really enjoy the use of their stunning gardens and outdoor areas. My Mum also got a matching voucher so she and I can enjoy some girly pamper time together. The voucher also includes a three course lunch with champagne to enjoy between treatments and use of the facilities.
Some of my favourite gifts are dressing gowns and pyjamas, Winter is all about keeping cosy and snuggly dressing gowns are the ideal attire to do so. I got the loveliest pale pink dressing gown with a gold foil star pattern all over, it is made from the softest material and it has a hood for extra cosiness, I absolutely love it, I have it on now as a matter of fact. I also a cute pair of NASA pyjamas and some Harry Potter socks.
Being cosy isn’t just for in the house, in this weather coupled with my constantly being cold I need all of the help I can get, which makes receiving a gorgeous knitted burgundy Accessorize snood scarf, bobble hat and glove set the perfect gift! I also got a burgundy Warehouse top to match, and a beautiful Biba crossbody handbag which I’ve already switched over too. I love burgundy for this time of year, it might even be my favourite. Keeping with the theme of handbags I also got a lovely black and leopard print bag too which I love.
I’d been smitten with Rayban Clubmaster sunnies ever since I saw them. Rayban’s are my favourite so I was overjoyed to have been gifted my very own pair. I love them! They’ll definitely come in handy with the low Winter sun and they’ll be the first thing I pack for my next holiday abroad! I also got a pair of Old Skool Vans which I’d been swooning over too! Heres hoping I don’t get them all dirty the first time I wear them!
Being fond a gin or five it is no surprise I was gifted gin goodies! Much to my delight! I received a set of Lakes Distillery Gin Baubles which have London Dry, Raspberry Gin Liqueur and Sloe Gin so I’m excited to try those! I got another miniature set which includes Tanqueray Rangpur, Bombay Sapphire and J.J. Whitley London Dry! I’ve only tried the Bombay so I’m keen to see how I like the others. Lastly I received a cute mug which has gold writing on saying “There’s A Chance This Is Gin”, it’s not wrong!
One of my favourite gifts has to be my personalised Three Six Five 2018 vegan planner. I opted for the grey one with the words “Dream big, work hard & make it happen” on the front, it has my initials embossed in rose gold to the bottom right of the planner. This is my first year of having a planner and I think this is the perfect one to use to help me achieve my goals. It’s so beautiful too so expect to see a lot of this in my upcoming posts and photos.
Another love of mine is candles, I’m definitely quite the candle junkie. I’m excited to have been gifted a beautiful Yankee Candle set containing some of my favourites from the brand, and some LED Laura Ashley candles with a sparkly silver finish. I liked them so much I ordered the gold set to match too!
I also did a post the same as this after last Christmas which you can find here.
What did you find under the tree? I’d love to know.
