I’ve been fortunate enough to have visited Dubai twice, and both times I’ve fallen a little more in love with it. There’s just something so grand and alluring about Dubai. There is something for everyone so it makes for a great holiday destination and with flights from so many UK airports it also brings it a lot closer to us. My local airport has daily flights out to the UAE which is almost on my doorstep. The flight actually flies over our house everyday like clockwork, 1345 on the button. I often find myself watching the bird fly overhead wishing that I was onboard.

One thing Dubai is renowned for is their shopping. Boasting one of the worlds largest shopping malls and authentic souks a-plenty, not to mention a dazzling array of markets in the old town which give you a real feel for Arabian culture. You’ll find yourself spoiled for choice. If that weren’t enough Dubai is home to its very own month-long shopping festival. The Dubai Shopping Festival runs from December 26th 2018 until January 28th 2019! The Dubai Shopping Festival first begun in 2006 and is well-known for being one of the greatest offerings Dubai has to give. An entire month of discounted shopping, where do I sign up! It would literally be a case of shop until you drop for me.

The Dubai Shopping Festival promises to offer festivity and lights, shopping and glamour, sports and adventure alongside multi-cultural cuisine to satisfy every taste bud. To celebrate the festival Dubai is decked out in a spectacular show of lights. With plentiful malls and shopping haunts scattered throughout Dubai you’ll struggle to find a store unwilling to offer some great savings. Retailers big and small offer savings of up to a huge 75%!! Not only that but there are also some incredible prizes on offer in the raffles, we’re talking high-end luxury cars, cash, and gold to name but a few! During the festival you will also find an array of street performances, shows, entertainment and firework displays in and around Dubai is to help tempt in shoppers to the nearby stores vying for their attention.

Dubai boasts glorious weather all year round, December and January will be an ideal time to visit and get some much-needed respite from the Winter at home. You can relax and enjoy temperatures in the late 20s, early 30s and feel entirely comfortable while out and about. The Summer in Dubai is a bit too much I feel, I first visited in August and I’ve never known heat like it.

  7. A shopping festival sounds AMAZING. I’ve never visited Dubai but my husband has and really enjoyed his time there. I’ve heard a load of positive comments about the shopping (and the brunches!) there!
