Jo Malone Wild Flowers & Weeds Collection

Is it really that time again? It doesn’t seem all that long since the last Spring collection launched and here we are already on the next.

I look forward to the launch of any Jo Malone product, but the limited edition launches spark so much more joy. The Brit collection 2019 is Wildflowers and Weeds and inspired by the unruly
weeds and wildly-wonderful plants and flowers that line the banks of a winding river. Although it might sound like an unusual collection to take inspiration from wild flowers and weeds, there’s a beautiful backstory to it.

“In life, it’s the troublemakers who make all the difference, those brave enough to harness a moment of rebellion in order to lend a new perspective. In Britain, we are forever rooting for the underdog and looking for beauty in imperfection – and Jo Malone London’s new Wild Flowers & Weeds collection does just that. It’s a celebration of nature’s rebels. The use of the finest ingredients is our signature, so don’t be fooled into thinking that these wildflowers and weeds don’t have unique and precious qualities. Take it from perfumers Yann Vasnier and Louise Turner, the noses behind our Wild Flowers & Weeds collection, as they explain why each of its five fragrances is so special. ‘With wild flowers and weeds, nature takes over, with no rhyme or reason- and makes things unexpectedly beautiful.”

Suddenly after I read that on the Jo Malone website the collection all made perfect sense. I love the notion of accepting the rebellion of the wild flowers and weeds to truly appreciate their unique beauty. There is most definitely a message in there to apply to life I feel.

Jo Malone Wildflowers and Weeds

The Collection

The Wild Flowers and Weeds collection is made up of five limited edition scents. Some possibly unexpected and you can’t help wonder how it would work. In true Jo Malone style, they absolutely do. If there was ever a brand to blend scents perfectly, it is, without doubt, Jo Malone. This is why the brand is so well-loved. Scents that you would never imagine being paired work in perfect harmony.

On a recent visit, I bought two of the five, although I do love them all. A girl has to draw the line somewhere, unfortunately so I stopped myself at two. Hemlock and Bergamot, and Lupin and Patchouli. Both quite different but equally delightful. I have to confess to being a bit of a sucker for a Jo Malone limited edition collection. Anything limited edition really. I adore the unique bottles each scent comes in and the alternating cap colouring. All five scents within this collection are 30ml and cost £49 each. If you buy two or more they come in a limited edition tin as part of the collection.

Hemlock & Bergamot Cologne

Hemlock’s powdery petals brightened with bergamot. A deadly, yet an unexpectedly-delicate flower. Illuminated with golden mimosa and a floral flourish of heliotrope. Crisp and modern with a bite of cucumber.
  • Top Note: Bergamot – Brightens with its sparkling, citrus freshness.
  • Heart Note: Hemlock – A delicate powdery and airy floral note, complemented by mimosa and cassie in the heart.
  • Base Note: Heliotrope – An embracing, powdery note with an almond facet, amplifying the floral notes in the heart.
