My Top Spring / Summer Fashion Picks

I can confirm it is officially Spring, and more importantly very nearly Summer here in the UK, although you would be forgiven for thinking it was still Winter what with the awful weather we’ve been having! Could I be more quintessentially British making a jibe about the weather. Probably not tbh! Despite the weather lacking in Spring and summer offerings I’m embracing it in other ways. One of which is with some of the latest spring and summer fashion picks on offer in the shops at the moment. There’s something so exciting about shopping a new seasons styles and welcoming Spring and Summer into my wardrobe has to be my favourite time to shop!

Well at least it’s beginning to look like spring and summer somewhere! Not content at stopping at the wardrobe, I have gone on to fill the house with brightly coloured daffodils and tulips in hope sunny spring and summer weather will soon follow! As us Brits know all to well, we don’t have clear concise seasons so choosing new key pieces can be a little tricky. I know we’ve all woke up and dressed a little warmer, and by early afternoon been sweating like something not right by opting for a warm jumper!

One of the first items I got which was a gift from my other half was a gorgeous floral midi dress, I was completely smitten when I saw it and knew I had to have it. It can be dressed up or down and it’s pinched in at the waist to create a flattering fit. The outer dress is very sheer so it also comes with a white slip style dress to go under so you aren’t all on display. I couldn’t wait to try it on, after asking Jack’s opinion, and rather wishing I’d not bothered he replied that it looked like Mrs Doubtfire’s dress… Because that’s exactly who I had in mind when I envisioned myself wearing this! But what do men know about women’s fashion right?! I love it.

Last year I really developed a love affair with culottes and lighter trousers alike. This year is no different as I’ve just picked up my first pair of beautiful muted olive culottes with tie waist in a cropped leg, I really love them, I tried them on with stripe tee with the Fifth Street on the front and thought that went together so well I bought the top as well! Staying on the t-shirt theme I also snapped up a cute grey tee with LA across the front, the American slogans were completely unintentional, honestly, I just really loved them.

Something else I’ve become somewhat obsessed with buying of late are handbags. I’m turning into an actual bag lady! One bag inparticular is definitely unlike any of my other bags so that makes it 100% justifiable right?! I think so! Enter my cute new embroidered round straw bag (it’s currently out of stock but you can get this similar bag!! Can we just take a second to appreciate how pretty this is! I for one LOVE it! It’s so perfect for Spring and summer styles. It has been lined in such a way you can open it without all of your belongings falling out everywhere.

The final item I bought was pretty much love at first sight, I had no idea at that point what I would even wear it with, but I knew that I needed it in my wardrobe. I give you this gorgeous nude pink button down wrap blouse, it was giving me retro 80s/90s kinda vibes and I was living for them! Its made using a lightweight flowy material which will be perfect for the hopefully nice weather we’re due in Spring and Summer! I love it, so much so it might even be my favourite item from this post in truth.

Have you picked up any spring / summer clothes to add to your wardrobe yet?

I also have a post on a recent Spring and Summer haul from Primark you can check out here.
