Tin Feather Cosmetics Tinted Lip Oil

I’m without doubt a self-confessed lip product junkie. Whether it be lip balm, lipstick, lip gloss, lip oil, you name it, you will never see me with bare lips. It’s something I’ve done for as long as I can remember now. My lip product journey has evolved from the earlier days of sporting a high-shine gloss daily to more nourishing and hydrating products to really care for my lips. There are so many products on the market to choose from, it can be easy to feel spoilt for choice, or even struggle knowing what to choose!

Over the years I’ve worked my way through so many different products! I like to think I’m able to know a good product when I find one now. I know exactly what to look for, for my personal needs, and I know what works and what doesn’t for me. I tend to suffer with dry, chapped lips most of the time if I don’t take care of them properly. I love a lip product that combines both lip care whilst offering colour too. More often than not coloured lip care products are quite light and sheer I find. Enter Tin Feather Cosmetics who have opened me up to a whole new world of coloured lip care with their lip oils.

Despite being an oil they glide on beautifully and without feeling greasy, I’d never have guessed they were an oil if I didn’t know. They give a medium to full coverage layer to the lips which you can build up a little more with extra coats. They feel very moisturising on the lips and I feel that my lips look healthy and nourished after I wear the lip oils. They are in a tube we are familiar with seeing a lipgloss in, they also have a doe foot wand applicator.

Tin Feather Cosmetics is a lot more established over in the USA than in the UK. They currently stock a range of both lip oils and lipsticks. I was very kindly sent two lip oils to try for myself, the shades I received were Rouge and Ritzy.

Ritzy is a lovely peachy pink tone which I think would lend itself well to all skin tones. It definitely looks darker in the tube than on the lips which I was pleased about as I thought it might have been a little too dark for my personal liking. It is definitely a shade that could be worn for a variety of looks as it is quite a neutral pink shade I feel. I’ve worn this colour the most mainly because its more wearable and I prefer this sort of shade for my more natural looks.

Rouge I think is my personal favourite of the two despite wearing it the least. It’s a stunning rich plum shade which gives me some serious vampy vibes. I’m definitely a vampy gal at heart so it’s no surprise that I prefer this shade. It looks stunning with a more subtle eye to really give emphasis to the bold lip. For me this is more of an evening shade or Autumn / Winter time.

Overall I have really enjoyed trying out these lipsticks and I do feel that they are worth trying. I love that they combine both colour with caring for my lips at the same time. In truth I wasn’t sure how an oil lip product would work out for me and my dry lips, I worried it might dry them out more. I couldn’t have been more wrong, they left my lips feeling really hydrated and moisturised. I’d definitely recommend these products to my fellow lip product lovers.

The lip oils are £13.50 each for 10ml of product.
