A Few Ways To Spoil Yourself This Month

*Sponsored Content*

We often see guides full of gift ideas to help us to spoil those around us. It’s a such a fulfilling feeling you get when you treat your nearest and dearest, seeing how happy it makes them. Spoiling others is viewed as an act of kindness and generosity, yet to spoil yourself can be seen as self-indulgent. I completely disagree with that opinion and I actually feel that to spoil ourselves is not only a good thing, but also necessary. We often here the term self-care being thrown about a lot and it’s such an important subject. Self-care is a term which is open to the individuals interpretation, but I believe to spoil ourselves from time to time is a crucial part of self-care. It’s most definitely not something to feel guilty for doing or that we’re being self-indulgent. It needn’t be expensive or cost at all to treat ourselves, here are some of my personal favourite ways to spoil and indulge myself from time to time.

A good old bubble bath

This is one of my favourite ways to really spoil myself and feel good. A lovely hot bubble bath! Think of Chandler lying there in the bath as the salts effervesce, listening Enya play while the candles flicker away. Ahhh bliss! A luxurious bubble bath and some down time is such a small but perfect idea to really take some time for self-care. You’ll probably already have plenty of bath treats around the house, but if you want to really treat yourself, why not grab some new products and really make a fuss of yourself. One of my favourite brands I love to get body care products from is Cowshed. Theres just something about having some new bath treats to make you feel extra special and really spoil yourself.

Book yourself in for a treatment

This is always guaranteed to make me feel amazing and its one of my personal favourites when it comes to spoiling myself. Whether it be booking a hair appointment, getting your nails done or having a relaxing massage, you’ll definitely feel so much better afterwards. I very rarely do these things so when I do it’s a real treat for me and I enjoy it that bit more. I know that these appointments might not always be the cheapest, but if you’re looking for something more low-cost, Groupon always have fab offers on a wide range of treatments.

Take a break from social media

This one is 100% free! Having some time away from social media is not only a great form of self-care, but I feel that it is necessary. It’s not healthy to be constantly online living in a digital world and becoming detached from reality. We should all make time to consciously detox ourselves every now and again. You’ll find you have more time than you thought, why not order that book you’ve had on your Amazon wishlist for weeks. Pour a fresh cup of tea, get into your cosy pyjamas and curl up with your favourite book and get lost in the story. Or maybe films are more your thing, settling down for the evening with a good movie can be equally as good.

Get Active

Possibly not something you might consider when thinking of ways to spoil yourself, but stay with me. While you’re working away and sweating like something not right you might struggle to see how this is working to treat yourself, but once you’re finished and showered you can’t beat that feeling you get after a good work out. You don’t even need to go to the gym, head out for a walk, go for a swim, if you have a bike you could head out on that. It’s a well-known fact that your body releases endorphins when your exercise, consider this a natural drug/high, your endorphins trigger positive feelings and emotions and its one of the best things you can do for yourself. Admittedly I don’t do this as often as I’d like, but nothing beats that feeling you get after.
