Bilou: The CF & Vegan Body Care You Need To Try

A notable chill in the air, nights becoming darker, and with the ground blanketed in crunchy leaves. This can only mean one thing, Autumn is well and truly upon us. This gives us the perfect opportunity to up our self-care and indulge in more bubble baths and pampering that ever before. There’s nothing quite like sinking into a steaming hot bubble bath and soaking your stresses away. As a huge advocate of the bubble bath and good pamper session there is nothing like the added treat of using new products for the first time. Enter Bilou body care!

Recently, I have been enjoying just that with some new treats from Bilou. Bilou is the brain child of Bibi of Bibi’s Beauty Palace. She has a real love of beauty products and in 2014 she and her boyfriend decided to created their own range of products, and so Bilou was born. They are a vegan, cruelty-free bodycare brand with some of the most delicious scented products I’ve tried.

The packaging and products are so fun and colourful in their design with some unique formulas I was excited to try. I was kindly gifted three products, each in a different yummy scent! I was convinced I’d found my favourite scent, until I smelled the next! All three have very different, but equally incredible scents.

Creamy Shower Foam – Fizz Berry *

This product is super rich and creamy! I love a good lather with my body wash products and this gives me just that. Leaving my skin thoroughly cleansed, without being drying whilst maintaining the most delightful scent which lasts well after rinsing, it is a real joy to use. The foam is expensed just as a hair mousse would. The moment it touches wet skin a rich and deliciously scented lather occurs. I find myself using far more product than I ever need, but I adore this so much! I’d have to say that this is my favourite product of the three, and possibly my favourite scent too. I’ll most definitely be buying the other products in this scent after trying this.

Gentle Cream Foam – Cotton Candy *

I couldn’t wait to try out this formula, I was so intrigued by a creamy foam moisturiser! It squirted out of the can much like the shower foam, which I have to admit felt strange as it was for my body. It felt a little alien to apply a handful of what looked like mousse onto dry skin, but I went with it. The foam cream was easy to apply and a little goes a long way. It was easily absorbed without leaving my skin feeling sticky or tacky. The scent is described as “fluffy cloud of cotton candy, sweet and caramel” which I would agree with. It is a lovely without being overpowering scent, very sweet with notes of caramel very prominent. All in all I really enjoy this product and it’s more fun to use than a regular cream.

2 in 1 Body Spray – Coco Cocktail *

Coconut is without a doubt one of my all time favourite scents so I was fully expecting to like this. I was not disappointed, it has the most heavenly tropical coconut with hints of vanilla sneaking through!! I just want to unscrew the cap and drink it all it smells so good! This is a 2 in 1 body spray, if like me you’re wondering exactly what it means, I’ll tell you. Alongside being a delicious body spray, it also acts as a

deodorant, double whammy! The scent is beautiful and long-lasting, I feel fresh all day when using this as a 2 in 1. I do love my regular choice of deodorant so I don’t see myself using this in place, but it is a great idea. Another hit with me.

Final Thoughts

I honestly really love the products I have tried, they all smell incredible and I’d absolutely recommend them. Bilou is both cruelty free and vegan making it available to everyone which I also love! They have a good range of scents in varying products to buy also, and the formula of them are really cool. I love the creamy shower foam the most, closely followed by the cream foam. I for one would definitely repurchase and if you’re in the market for bath products, check them out. You can buy them from Superdrug and I think they’re all reasonably priced too. In the words of Simon Cowell, it’s a yes from me.
