What I Got For Christmas 2019

(Contains affiliate links)

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Christmas. I adore this time of year. There’s a certain feeling I get that I don’t any other time of the year. I feel it brings out the best in so many of us. Warm and fuzzy feels if you will. I love to spend quality time with my nearest and dearest. Taking the opportunity to treat them, I totally get that Christmas isn’t about the gifts but I do love to take the time to treat my loved ones.

I love to see how others spend their days and what traditions they have. But I also love to see other peoples gifts, mainly because I’m nosy. I also like to share my gifts, not to boast but because I enjoy these posts. So if like me you also enjoy them, I hope you enjoy my what I got for Christmas post.

Beauty & Skincare

As a self-confessed beauty/skincare addict I cannot get enough new products to try. This is well known by my loved ones and they have very kindly gifted me some fab products this year. One thing I’d been eyeing up for a little while and found under the Christmas tree is the Foreo UFO complete with masks to use both morning and night. I love my Luna and was keen to try this. I can’t wait to see how this works for me.

On to beauty next and I received two pieces from MAC’s holiday collection. A beautiful face palette with bronzer, blush and two highlighters. The second item is a lip set in my favourite tone, nude. The kit includes lipstick, lip pencil and lip gloss all snugly concealed within a cute rose gold makeup bag. The final beauty gift is a Lancôme Hypnose Mascara Set. This is my absolute favourite mascara and this set includes a great selection of the Hypnose mascara range.

Bath & Body

My next three gifts are all bath and body care products, you can never have too many. Regular pamper sessions are a real must, especially at this time of year. When it comes to bath and body products you don’t get much more luxurious (in my opinion) than Molton Brown. Their shower gels are some of my all-time favourites. You can imagine my delight at opening a beautiful gift set containing three shower gels. Fiery Pink Pepper, Jasmine and Sun Rose and Rose Absolute, each as delicious as the last.

While visiting York recently we stumbled upon The Yorkshire Soap Co. After sampling some of the products I soon fell for the heavenly scent of their No 3. Night Night Sweetheart range. It is like a lighter and more subtle Pomegranate Noir by Jo Malone. My Mum sneakily bought me the Shower Bath & Body Set which includes a shower gel, bath foam and body lotion.

The third and final gift is a beautiful Spaa Retreat Gift Set that is packaged in the prettiest grey and rose gold vanity case. The contains everything I could need for a pamper night and I adore the vanity case. It will be perfect for trips away.

Fragrance

I love to both receive and gift perfume at Christmas time. I rarely buy any myself as I always get a bottle or two at this time of year. This year however I was fortunate enough to receive 5 fragrances! I got the most recent offering from Valentino – Born In Roma Set which includes a full-size bottle of perfume, a smaller handbag size bottle and a body lotion. The next fragrance is Jo Malone Rose & Magnolia Cologne from their holiday collection. It comes in limited edition packaging sporting blue accenting. Who doesn’t love to find a Jo Malone bag under the tree? I also unwrapped the heavenly Armani Si, YSL Libre and Lancôme Tresor La Nuit. It’s fair to say I’m all set when it comes to divine perfumes. I’ll be smelling delightful in 2020.

Clothes

I feel like I’ve developed a slight obsession with jackets and coats recently. Something those close to me have obviously noticed also as I was gifted two beautiful coats. One from Next is a mid-length white faux fur coat and I couldn’t be happier. So classy and stylish, I can’t wait to wear it. My second is a white padded jacket with a faux fur trim hood from Zara.

I also received two tops from Oasis. A rich burgundy lightweight knit jumper with button detailing on the sides, and a camel colour scallop edge jumper. Both make beautiful additions to my wardrobe. The next item I feel is somewhat controversial and we find ourselves in one of two camps. Love or hate. I’m talking about Ugg Boots. Personally, I like them and had been eyeing up a pair in the classic short version before Christmas. Said pair made their way under the tree and I love them. I usually get the longer ones but I adore the shorter boots.

Next up is a classic Christmas gift that I’m a huge fan of. Pyjamas! I wear pyjamas about 70% of the time and I have to admit to having a bit of an addiction. Something else which has been noticed by my loved ones. I was gifted four pairs, two I had worn and didn’t have handy for photos, however. To go perfectly with my pyjamas I also received a pair of Minnie Mouse Slipper Boots and some cosy socks.

Everything Else

Jewellery is a beautiful thing to unwrap at Christmas. I received the most perfect Rose Gold Bangle with the sweetest inscription around it from my Mum. It is something I can keep for years to come.

Three other well-known loves of mine are Queen, Freddie in particular, candles and gin. I got a lovely Yankee Candle Set containing a delicious range of festive scents. I also got a candle from Ringtons, something I hadn’t realised they did. It is in the scent Starry, Starry Night and it smells so tranquil and soothing.

Moving on to my beloved Queen, I received a Queen Documentary DVD, fingers crossed I don’t end up the usual sobbing mess I become when watched them. Freddie was a very private person and he didn’t pen any autobiographies. However, a book has been created using a lot of Freddie’s own words which is the closest thing I will get to a genuine autobiography. A copy of said book was left under the tree.

I can now up my gin game after receiving a Gin Cocktail Book and Gin Making Kit. I’m so excited to get stuck in and see what I can create.

So that must be it right? I seem to be forgetting one item under the tree.

The Gucci Bag

I nearly died when I unwrapped this. The tears filled my eyes almost as soon as they read the words Gucci. This was the one thing I had my heart set on for so long and I had been putting money aside, and with some Christmas money, I was all set to head to Edinburgh over the holidays to buy it.

The dreamy item in question is the Gucci Soho Disco Bag. Jack knew how much I had been lusting after this bag and he surprised me with it just after I opened what I thought was my last gift. It was hidden inside the outer box so initially, I was none the wiser. The beautiful black and white box, complete with hand-tied bow peered out of the outer box and I was close to crying. I felt so overwhelmed to have unwrapped such a beautiful and generous gift. I plan to feature her in all of her glory in a stand-alone post, if like me you have a vice for beautiful bags, stay tuned.

So that rounds up my What I Got For Christmas 2019 post.
