Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette Accessoires Review

The Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette Accessoires is arguably one of the brand’s most hard to find pieces. This is one of Louis Vuitton’s classic and even iconic items. It isn’t difficult to see why the Mini Pochette is so revered among luxury addicts around the world.

Since actually owning one myself I found it to be more useful than I’d have ever imagined. I use mine daily and have for over two years. I love this piece so much that I actually own four of them. The classic Monogram, Damier Ebene and two pieces from the Christmas Animation 2020 and 2021 launches.

Let’s Take A Closer Look

The Mini Pochette is classed as a small leather good, SLG for short. I find this a bit weird as it is largely canvas but it’s a collective name. It’s generously sized in my opinion for being an SLG and it holds a deceiving number of items.

Louis Vuitton currently has four options when it comes to the Mini Pochette. Three in canvas and one leather which is a new addition. The canvas options are Monogram, Damier Ebene and Damier Azur and the leather option is Empreinte Bicolour. Often the Mini Pochette is included in limited edition collections, particularly summer and holiday collections. All options of the Mini Pochettes showcase gold hardware with a zip closure and leather tab. It is worth noting that on the Monogram canvas the leather tab is untreated, raw vachetta. They all share the same textile lining in varying colours depending on the exterior design. It comes complete with a non-removable gold chain which can be used as a classic strap or a wristlet.

Functionality

This is such a brilliant item to own and more useful than I’d ever anticipated. I typically use this as a catch-all inside my handbags to carry my essentials. I’ve also used it as a mini bag when running errands when I didn’t want to carry a handbag. It doesn’t fit my phone as I have the bigger iPhone but I do believe that it fits the smaller iPhones with ease. I tend to carry what I need in my bags and this is more than big enough to do that. The interior is one open compartment and as previously mentioned, it is deceivingly spacious. I love how this organises my bag keeping my items together rather than rolling around freely.

Due to its great functionality, this is easily one of my most used luxury items. As I’ve purchased an additional shoulder strap I have also attached this to my Mini Pochette and worn it crossbody. As the world gets back into some kind of normality I’ll be able to get more use out of this. It would make a great wristlet for a date night or meal out. I also think it will be fab to use for travelling too.

Durability and Quality

Louis Vuitton canvas is renowned for its durability and quality. Of course with all things there can be a degree of quality issues but I’ve not experienced any. All of my items are in perfect condition without any flaws. I’d say when it comes to durability the Monogram canvas would be the least durable due to the vachetta tab. That said it is only small and despite being a bit wary of vachetta myself it doesn’t actually bother me.

The textile lining could be prone to becoming dirty over time or if anything is spilt inside. I pack mine in such a way I ensure any liquids are upright to avoid this. The Monogram and Damier Azur have lighter linings whereas the Damier Ebene has red. If you use the one with a red interior be mindful of possible colour transfer to lighter items. I’ve not experienced this personally but I do feel that it could happen.

Is It Worth It?

Slight disclaimer because yes I think so absolutely. I love mine and use it daily giving me a brilliant cost per wear ratio. However, I bought mine for £230 for the regular canvas pieces, £295 and £375 for the holiday animations. With pricing now starting at an eye-watering £515, I really don’t think I’d purchase this item anymore.

That said, it’s super functional for my life and I love how it organises my bag. For me personally, this is more than worth it which is evident in my owning four. They can be tricky to get but they’re so worth it if you’re able to get your hands on one. Definitely one of the brand’s most iconic items in my book.

If this is something you would like to purchase try to do it sooner rather than later as they’re often included in price increases.

  1. Wow, that’s some price increase in 2 years! There’s no way I’d pay the new price, but can see why you paid £215. I’m just not a fan of LV monogramming, but I do like some of their bags x

  2. I have bought and sold some of the LE mini pochettes, escale and Xmas because I just don’t like brown however pretty.

I finally bought the bicolour in pink empreinte and I love it, I paid retail. This one is a keeper having gone through 9 of them. I only wish I’d kept them all seeing the recent price hikes.

If they ever bring out a canvas in a muted non brown colour with silver hardware I would pay todays prices. For now my one pink one is enough. I also own the Chanel mini o cases (just don’t ask how many lol)
